The study focused on the impact of the insoluble fraction of Persian gum-sodium alginate and a blend of the insoluble fraction of Persian gum-sodium alginate (IFPG-Al) with whey protein isolate (WPI) on sprayed extract (JE) powder. The addition of whey protein led to powders with higher moisture (10%), higher solubility (99.19%), and lower powder yield (27.82%). The powders fabricated with WPI depicted the best protection of polyphenolic compounds (3933.4 mg/L) and the highest encapsulation efficiency activity (74.84%). Additionally, they had a higher (62.63°C), which indicates more stability of the powders during shelf life. The sphericity of the majority of the particles was noticeable in powders, but multi-sided concavities were visible in the protein-containing particles. Based on the particle size's results, IFPG-Al/WPI capsules fabricated relatively smaller particles (2.54 μm). It can be acknowledged that the presence of protein in particles can bring fruitful results by preserving valuable bioactive compounds.

An evolutionarily conserved heterodimeric FACT (Facilitates chromatin transcription) regulates transcription, DNA repair, replication and other cellular processes via its interactions with other proteins. FACT is recently found to be regulated via ubiquitylation and 26S proteasomal degradation, alteration of which is associated with aberrant transcription and genome integrity. However, there has not been a systematic study to analyze FACT interactions proteome-wide in the presence and absence of its UPS (Ubiquitin-proteasome system) regulation, which could reveal new FACT interactors with mechanistic and functional implications.

Black rice can be defined as a natural functional food, due to its high content of antioxidant polyphenols, particularly anthocyanins and phenolic acids. Introduction: Improving sleep in murine Alzheimer's disease (AD) is associated with reduced brain amyloidosis. However, the window of opportunity for successful sleep-targeted interventions, regarding the reduction in pathological hallmarks and related cognitive performance, remains poorly characterized.
Methods: Here, we enhanced slow-wave activity (SWA) during sleep via sodium oxybate (SO) oral administration for 2 weeks at early (6 months old) or moderately late (11 months old) disease stages in Tg2576 mice and evaluated resulting neuropathology and behavioral performance.

The degeneration of pyramidal tracts has been reported in frontotemporal lobar degeneration with TDP-43 (TAR DNA-binding protein 43) pathology (FTLD-TDP) type C. Herein, we examined the detailed pathology of the primary motor area and pyramidal tracts in the central nervous system in four autopsy cases of FTLD-TDP type C, all of which were diagnosed by neuropathological, biochemical, and genomic analyses. Three patients showed right dominant atrophy of the frontal and temporal lobes, while the other patient showed left dominant atrophy.
