Torque placed by dentists on prefabricated threaded posts. | LitMetric

AI Article Synopsis

  • A study tested 31 dentists on the torque they could apply to dental posts, measuring both optimal and maximum amounts.
  • The average optimal torque was found to be 15.55 ounce-inches, while the average maximum torque was 35.29 ounce-inches.
  • Female dentists demonstrated a statistically significant lower average in maximum torque, with a mean difference of 24.5 ounce-inches compared to their male counterparts.

Article Abstract

Thirty-one dentists were tested relative to the optimal and maximum amount of torque they could deliver to posts in teeth. The mean for the optimal amount of torque was 15.55 ounce-inches, and the mean for the maximum amount of torque was 35.29 ounce-inches. Female dentists showed a statistically significantly lower mean difference of 24.5 ounce-inches on the maximum torque test.

Optimization design and torque performance research of interior permanent magnet synchronous motors.

Sci Rep

March 2025

School of Mechanical and Electronically Engineering, Xinxiang University, Xinxiang, 453003, China.

The high magnetic saturation at flux isolation bridge of interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) enriches the harmonic content of air gap flux density. When IPMSM operates at low speeds, these harmonics of air gap flux density increase torque ripple. An IPMSM with I2V type is proposed to further improve sine degree of no-load air gap flux density, achieving high torque density and low torque ripple.

The wide adoption of occupational shoulder exoskeletons in industrial settings remains limited. Passive exoskeletons were proved effective in a limited amount of application scenarios, such as (quasi-)static overhead handling tasks. Quasi-active devices, albeit representing an improved version of their passive predecessors, do not allow full modulation of the amount of assistance delivered to the user, lacking versatility and adaptability in assisting various dynamic tasks.

Performance analyses of mechanised vineyard activities require a reliable source of information that allows proper sizing of the tractor fleet according to field requirements and an assessment of the operating costs generated by them. To achieve that, however, a large amount of data regarding the power required by machinery and their field capacity, together with fuel consumption per hour and per hectare, is needed. This research, based on CAN-bus raw data collected from narrow tractors of 75 kW through a farming management information system (FMIS) system and then processed through a Python package called Vineyardutils created by the authors resulted in a dataset that summarises 374 labelled mechanised operations over a total of 717 working hours.

Continuous passive motion of the toes improves blood circulation and may help ankle injuries heal faster. Soft devices are more appropriate than rigid devices to accommodate a variety of foot shapes. Most conventional pneumatic soft robots are actuated cyclically by solenoid valves, which require large amounts of power for valves and controllers.

Background: In clear aligner therapy, tooth movement can be designed individually by computer software. However, the deformation of the aligner created by the virtual movement of one tooth may affect the actual movement of other teeth. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of the amount of canine movement on the responses of incisors and posterior teeth during maxillary anterior en-masse retraction with clear aligner.
