Melioidosis is a tropical infectious disease that ranks as northeastern Thailand's third most common infectious cause of death. The manifestations of melioidosis vary depending on the organs involved and often resemble malignancy and tuberculosis. We present a case of an atypical melioidosis presentation in a patient with low-grade fever and facial swelling without any risk factors. Chest CT revealed a 3.3-cm heterogeneous enhancing right lower paratracheal lymph nodes with thrombosis of the superior vena cava and azygos vein. Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration of lymph node was performed, and was identified through lymph node culture. The patient underwent a three-week intravenous course of ceftazidime and a 12-week oral course of trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. Oral anticoagulation was also administered. Follow-up computed tomography of the thorax after completion of treatment revealed no residual lymphadenopathy and thrombosis.

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and microwave ablation (MWA) for treating cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) from papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC).
Methods: Medline, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched for studies on the efficacy and safety of thermal ablations for treating CLNM from PTC until July 2024. Among 544 papers, 11 articles were reviewed involving 233 patients and 432 CLNM cases.

Background And Purpose: Radiation-induced hypothyroidism (RIHT) is a late complication of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). We evaluated thyroid protection in NPC patients receiving IMRT using modified delineation (MD) of cervical lymphatic drainage areas, sparing the common carotid artery within the clinical target volume (CTV), to assess its impact on thyroid function and survival outcomes.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients without metastatic lymph nodes at levels III and IV who received neck irradiation.

Aim: To assess transmural remission in patients with Crohn's disease using low-dose small bowel computed tomography (CT) perfusion scans.
Materials And Methods: Forty six patients were divided into active and remission phases based on Crohn's Disease Activity Index (CDAI) and C-reactive protein (CRP). Dual-source CT enterography with low-dose perfusion scans was conducted to generate perfusion parameter maps, including blood flow (BF), blood volume (BV), time to peak (TTP), mean transit time (MTT), and permeability of surface (PS).

Nocardia spp are ubiquitous, gram-positive, variably acid-fast, branching and beaded filamentous, facultative intracellular bacteria that are resistant to phagocytosis and can cause localized or systemic disease in a variety of mammals, including humans, as well as in birds, fish and reptiles. Seventeen pet domestic ferrets (Mustela putorius furo) were diagnosed with nocardiosis by several methods including cytological evaluation, histopathology, Ziehl-Neelsen staining and polymerase chain reaction (PCR). All except two ferrets were 2 years old or older at the time of clinical presentation.

Mixed neuroendocrine-non-neuroendocrine neoplasm (MiNEN) of the colon is rare with a poor prognosis. Since the first description of a mixed neoplasm 100 years ago, the nomenclature has evolved, most recently with the 2022 World Health Organization (WHO) classification system. We describe our experience of a case of locoregionally advanced MiNEN of the descending colon treated with curative laparoscopic resection and adjuvant chemotherapy.
