Emission from crystalline organic solids is often quenched by nonemissive energy-transfer deexcitation processes. While dispersion of fluorophores in polymers or other hosts has been used to enhance the emission intensity, this strategy results in randomization of guest orientation and optical losses at grain boundaries. Here, we report the doping of inherently nonemissive single crystals of anilinium bromide with three fluorescent organic molecules. The doping process equips the crystal with emission characteristics that tune from blue to deep orange. The emission intensity can be reversibly modulated by ferroelastic twinning, which causes the material to function as a multiemissive force sensor. This approach opens up new pathways in the manipulation of emissive properties in organic crystals and may have substantial implications for optoelectronic devices and sensors.

The preparation of new phosphor with outstanding luminescent properties for white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) is consistently a challenging. Here in the present study, A novel white-emitting chloropatite phosphor Ca(PO)Cl:Eu was synthesized via the pechini sol gel synthesis with citric acid and polyethylene glycol (PEG) acid as a fuel at 850 °C systematically investigating the impact of doping concentration and synthesis temperature on both photoluminescence properties and crystal phase. The structural characteristics and crystalline nature of the prepared sample were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra.

Metal-organic frameworks have received extensive development in the past three decades, which are generally constructed via the reaction between inorganic building units and commercially available or presynthesized organic linkers. However, the presynthesis of organic linkers is usually time-consuming and unsustainable due to multiple-step separation and purification. Therefore, methodology development of a new strategy is fundamentally important for the construction and further exploration of the applications of MOFs.

Liquid crystal monomers (LCMs), the integral components in the manufacture of digital displays, have engendered environmental concerns due to extensive utilization and intensive emission. Despite their prevalence and ecotoxicity, the LCM impacts on plant growth and agricultural yield remain inadequately understood. In this study, we investigated the specific response mechanisms of tobacco, a pivotal agricultural crop and model plant, to four representative LCMs (2OdF3B, 5CB, 4PiMeOP, 2BzoCP) through integrative molecular and physiological approaches.

Azulene-1,3-bis(semicarbazone), , and azulene-1,3-bis(thiosemicarbazone), , were synthesized by the acid-catalyzed condensation reactions of semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide, respectively, with azulene-1,3-dicarboxaldehyde in stoichiometric amounts. Compounds and were identified by high-resolution mass spectrometry and characterized by IR, H-NMR, C-NMR, and UV-vis spectroscopic techniques. Crystal structure determination of azulene-1,3-bis(thiosemicarbazone) shows that the thiosemicarbazone units exhibit a -closed conformation, with both arms oriented in the same direction and adopting an configuration with respect to the imine linkages.

The application of temperature-compensated photonic device is hampered by poor accuracy and overly simplistic functions of propagation in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) field. Herein, we report a new library of donor-acceptor metal-organic framework (D-A MOF) with thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) and the fabricating of temperature-compensated photonic device by virtue of the unique temperature response character of TADF emitters. Highly tunable through-space charge transfer (TSCT) of TADF was realized within the D-A MOFs through a novel strategy that synergistically combines the internal heavy atom effect (HAE) with an external HAE, induced by the incorporation of heavy atoms into different components, achieving the regulable photophysical indicators including adjustable PL wavelength (534 to 592 nm) and surging quantum yield (5.
