As a promising nondestructive testing (NDT) technique with a very adaptive physical modeling of wave transmission process, terahertz technology is used for the detection and characterization of nonpolar materials and the evaluation of layered and/or defective structures. THz-TDS can also be used to perform spectroscopic analysis and detect structural defects in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) of aero-engines. Although it is generally difficult to measure the structure of the thin oxide layer of the thermal barrier coatings whose thickness is generally lower than 30 µm (the current axial resolution of the THz-TDS cannot exceed 30 µm). We were able to complete the detection of the oxide layer within 1-29 µm through simulation by using the SWT-BP algorithm. In this study, the analysis was performed on real-world samples, the fitting degree of the SWT-BP algorithm reached 0.77, and the minimum prediction error was less than 0.1 µm. The paper also put forward some improvement measures about the experimental results.

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are carcinogenic compounds resulting from incomplete burning of organic materials. This work describes the successful layer-by-layer fabrication of a novel zinc oxide nanocomposite made of zinc oxide nanoparticles, aniline, sodium dodecyl sulfate, and modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes on a stainless steel wire by electrodeposition. The coating and extraction conditions were screened, optimized, and validated using factorial design and central composite design, respectively.

The adhesion between metals and polymers plays a pivotal role in numerous industrial applications, especially within the automotive and aerospace sectors, where there is a growing demand for materials that are both lightweight and durable. This study introduces an innovative technique to improve the adhesion between a metal and a polymer in hybrid structures through the synergistic use of anodization and plasma treatment. By forming a nanoporous oxide layer on aluminum surfaces, anodization enhances the interface for polymer binding.

: This study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effects of combined 5% lifitegrast (LF) and tocopherol (TCP) eye drops in a murine experimental dry eye (EDE) model. Female C57BL/6 were divided into seven groups: untreated controls, EDE control, EDE + 0.05% cyclosporin A (CsA), EDE + tocopherol (TCP), EDE + 5% LF, EDE + 5% LF + TCP (once daily), and EDE + 5% LF + TCP (twice daily).

We report on a procedure for extracting the SPICE model parameters of a RADFET sensor with a dielectric HfO/SiO double-layer. RADFETs, traditionally fabricated as PMOS transistors with SiO, are enhanced by incorporating high-k dielectric materials such as HfO to reduce oxide thickness in modern radiation sensors. The fabrication steps of the sensor are outlined, and model parameters, including the threshold voltage and transconductance, are extracted based on experimental data.

Insufficient selectivity is a major constraint to the further development of metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) sensors for chemical warfare agents, and this paper proposed an improved scheme combining catalytic layer/gas-sensitive layer laminated structure with temperature dynamic modulation for the Mustard gas (HD) MOS sensor. Mustard gas simulant 2-Chloroethyl ethyl sulfide (2-CEES) was used as the target gas, (Pt + Pd + Rh)@AlO as the catalytic layer material, (Pt + Rh)@WO as the gas-sensitive layer material, the (Pt + Pd + Rh)@AlO/(Pt + Rh)@WO sensor was prepared, and the sensor was tested for 2-CEES and 12 battlefield environment simulation gases under temperature dynamic modulation. The results showed that the sensor only showed obvious characteristic peaks in the resistance response curves to HD under certain conditions (100-400 °C, the highest temperature was held for 1 s and the lowest temperature was held for 2 s), and its peak height reached 6.
