The Multi-Professional Oncology Safety and Simulation Training (MOSST) program, supported by the National Cancer Institute was launched in Fall 2018. The original workshop was conducted in person. As the COVID pandemic hit the program was transitioned to an online/distance simulation program using best practices in healthcare simulation design and implementation. The full day workshop was moved to an online platform using Zoom and the in-person simulations were re-developed as video branching case simulations. Learner outcomes that were identical in each modality were evaluated using the evaluation metrics from the original workshop. The use of a distance simulation modality to deliver the MOSST workshop resulted in a high-quality educational experience for the learners and the educational outcomes were comparable to the in-person version. Distance simulation using virtual unfolding case studies and didactic content showed comparable subjective and objective outcomes from participating learners. This work adds to the developing body of research on distance simulation.

Objective: To explore the anatomic characteristics of C7 nerve localization, course, and length during cross-transfer surgery of the C7 nerve through the anterior vertebral approach and investigate the feasibility, safety, and clinical efficacy of C7 nerve transfer surgery through the anterior vertebral approach for the treatment of central upper limb spastic paralysis.
Methods: Four fresh-frozen adult head and neck samples were selected. C7 nerve transfer surgery was simulated through the anterior vertebral approach.

With the phase-out of legacy persistent organic pollutants (POPs), the ocean's role is evolving, potentially acting as both a reservoir and a source. This study investigates the air-sea fluxes of the first banned POPs, such as organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), using literature from Web of Science up to 2023. OCP and PCB concentrations in air and seawater show significant spatiotemporal variability.

In order to figure out the wall effect on the propulsive property of an auto-propelled foil, the commercial open-source code ANSYS Fluent was employed to numerically evaluate the fluid dynamics of flexible foil under various wall distances. A virtual model of NACA0015 foil undergoing travelling wavy motion was adopted, and the research object included 2D and 3D models. To capture the foil's moving boundary, the dynamic grid technique coupled with the overlapping grid was utilized to realize the foil's positive deformation and passive forward motion.

Inspired by the ultrafast directional water transport structure of Sarracenia trichomes, hierarchical textured surfaces with specific microgrooves were prepared based on laser processing combined with dip modification, in response to the growing problem of freshwater scarcity. The prepared surfaces were tested for droplet transport behavior to investigate the relationship between the surface structure and the driving force of directional water transport and their effects on the water transport distance and water transport velocity. The results showed that surfaces with a superhydrophobic background associated channels of multirib structures, and a dual-gradient surface of gradient hydrophobic background associated channels with gradient structure performed the best in terms of water transport efficiency.

This study constructs virtual vector triangles in multidimensional space to address cooperative control issue in time-varying nonlinear multi-agent systems. The distributed adaptive virtual point and its dynamic equations are designed, with this virtual point, the leader, and the follower being respectively defined as the vertices of the virtual vector triangle. The virtual vector edges, decomposed by vectors into coordinate axis components, are organized to form a closed virtual vector triangle by connecting the three vertices with directed vector arrows that are oriented from the tail to the head.
