Accuracy of robot-assisted implant surgery versus freehand placement: a retrospective clinical study.

Int J Implant Dent

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Shaanxi Province for Craniofacial Precision Medicine Research, College of Stomatology, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, China.

Purpose: This study evaluated the accuracy of implant placement using a robotic system (Remebot) compared to freehand surgery and explored factors influencing accuracy.

Methods: This retrospective study included 95 implants placed in 65 patients, divided into robot-assisted (50 implants) and freehand (45 implants) groups. Platform, apical, and angular deviations were measured by superimposing preoperative plans and the postoperative CBCT images.

Introduction: Fibroids are the most common benign uterine tumors. There are different possibilities for surgical approaches, and evaluating the cost of these operations is fundamental in modern surgery. The aim of our study is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of robotic-assisted myomectomy (RAM) compared to open myomectomy (OM) in France.

Background And Objective: Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) is increasingly used for primary staging in prostate cancer. Owing to accurate detection of small metastases on PSMA-PET/CT, patient selection for robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) has likely changed. This study analyzes oncological outcomes in patients undergoing RARP and extended pelvic lymph node dissection (ePLND) after PSMA-PET/CT staging, compared with those without PSMA-PET/CT.
