Background: The transmembrane protein Notch1 is associated with cell growth, development, differentiation, proliferation, apoptosis, adhesion, and the epithelial mesenchymal transition. Proteomics, as a research method, uses a series of sequencing techniques to study the composition, expression levels, and modifications of proteins. Here, the association between Notch1 and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) was investigated using proteomics, to assess the possibility of using Notch1 as a biomarker for the disease.

Methods: Fifty-five eligible patients with AMI and 74 with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS) were enrolled, representing the experimental and control groups, respectively. The mRNA levels were assessed using RT-qPCR and proteins were measured using ELISA, and the results were compared and analyzed.

Results: Notch1 mRNA levels were 0.52 times higher in the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of the AMI group relative to the CCS group ( < 0.05) while Notch1 protein levels were 0.63 times higher in peripheral blood plasma in AMI patients ( < 0.05). Notch1 levels were not associated with older age, hypertension, smoking, high abdominal-blood glucose, high total cholesterol, and high LDL in AMI. Logistic regression indicated associations between AMI and reduced Notch1 expression, hypertension, smoking, and high fasting glucose.

Conclusions: Notch1 expression was reduced in the peripheral blood of patients with AMI relative to those with CCS. The low expression of Notch1 was found to be an independent risk factor for AMI and may thus be an indicator of the disease.

Background: BERIL-1 was a randomized phase 2 study that studied paclitaxel with either buparlisib, a pan-class I PIK3 inhibitor, or placebo in patients with recurrent or metastatic (R/M) head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC). Considering the therapeutic paradigm shift with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) now approved in the first-line setting, we present an updated immunogenomic analysis of patients enrolled in BERIL-1, including patients with immune-infiltrated tumors.

Objective: The objective of this study was to identify biomarkers predictive of treatment efficacy in the context of the post-ICI therapeutic landscape.

This article explored the specific mechanism by which ginsenoside Rg_1 regulates cellular autophagy to attenuate hypoxia/reoxygenation(H/R) injury in HL-1 cardiomyocytes through the microRNA155(miR-155)/neurogenic gene Notch homologous protein 1(Notch1)/hairy and enhancer of split 1(Hes1) pathway. An HL-1 cell model with H/R injury was constructed, and ginsenoside Rg_1 and/or Notch1 inhibitor DAPT and miR-155 mimics were used to treat cells. Cell counting kit(CCK)-8 was used to detect the relative viability of HL-1 cells with H/R injury.

Objective: To analyze the clinical characteristics and molecular biomarkers of adult T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL) to identify prognostic factors, and to evaluate the efficacy of different chemotherapy regimens, providing a basis for optimizing treatment strategies for T-LBL.

Methods: A total of 89 Patients aged 18-72 years with T-LBL, confirmed via histopathological examination of lymph nodes, extranodal tissues, or bone marrow, were retrospectively included. Clinical data, treatment details, and mutational profiles were collected.

Ovarian cancer (OC) is the second most common female reproductive cancer and the most lethal gynecological malignancy worldwide. Most human OCs are characterized by high rates of drug resistance and metastasis, leading to poor prognosis. Improving the outcomes of patients with relapsed and treatment-resistant OC remains a challenge.

Fructose, as a natural and simple sugar, is not significantly harmful to the human body when consumed in moderation and can provide energy for the body. High-fructose diets have been linked to an increased risk of a range of metabolic disorders, including hypertriglyceridemia, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus. These conditions are known to be associated with an elevated risk of developing cardiometabolic diseases.
