Adsorption is an effective approach for remediating ammonium pollution, and zeolite has exceptional efficacy for the adsorption of ammonium. The investigation of ammonium adsorption using coal-fly-ash-based zeolite has gained remarkable attention in contemporary research. In this work, a sodium-acetate-modified synthetic zeolite (MSZ) was used to absorb ammonium in simulated wastewater. The MSZ had an adsorption capacity for ammonium of 27.46 mg g, and the adsorption process followed the Langmuir isotherm model and pseudo-second-order kinetics model. The adsorption and desorption of ammonium were controlled by ion exchange, pore diffusion, and electrostatic attraction processes. Ion exchange was responsible for 77.90% of the adsorption process and 80.16% of the desorption process. The MSZ was capable of continuously removing large amounts of ammonium from wastewater through fixed bed adsorption. After 5 regeneration cycles, MSZ still maintained 75% adsorption characteristics for ammonium. Using MSZ adsorbed with ammonium as a soil amendment increased the germination rate of mung beans by 10%. Furthermore, it also increased the stem length, root length, and fresh weight by 20-30%. These findings suggest that MSZ provides a promising application prospect to mitigate ammonium pollution and recycle ammonium resources.

In this study, CO reacted with a curing agent through nucleophilic addition to form ammonium salts, enabling the stable capture and internal release of CO, which achieved gas-phase nucleation and foaming. Additionally, the introduction of wave-absorbing agents improved the absorption mechanism and promoted uniform foaming. This nucleation-free foaming process relies on the induced growth of gas nuclei and the synergistic effect of the wave-absorbing agents, effectively preventing the uneven foaming issues caused by traditional nucleating agents.

Filler defects and matrix crosslinking degree are the main factors affecting the interfacial adhesion properties of propellants. Improving adhesion can significantly enhance debonding resistance. In this study, all-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are employed to investigate the interfacial adsorption behavior and mechanisms between ammonium perchlorate (AP) fillers and a poly(3,3-bis-azidomethyl oxetane)-tetrahydrofuran (PBT) matrix.

A series of hydrophilic copolymers were prepared using 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) and itaconic acid (IA) from free radical polymerization at different feed monomer ratios using ammonium persulfate (APS) initiators in water at 70 °C. The herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D) was grafted to Poly(HEMA--IA) by a condensation reaction. The hydrolysis of the polymeric release system, Poly(HEMA--IA)-2,4-D, demonstrated that the release of the herbicide in an aqueous phase depends on the polymeric system's pH value and hydrophilic character.

In this research study, we investigated four strains of that showed promising properties for plant growth. These strains were tested for their ability to mobilize phosphorus and produce ammonium, siderophores, and phytohormones. The strains exhibited different values of PGP traits; however, the analysis of the complete genomes failed to reveal any significant differences in known genes associated with the expression of beneficial plant traits.

Quinoa () is an Andean allotetraploid pseudocereal crop with higher protein content and balanced amino acid composition in the seeds. Ammonium (NH), a direct source of organic nitrogen assimilation, mainly transported by specific transmembrane ammonium transporters (), plays important roles in the development, yield, and quality of crops. Many and their functions have been identified in major crops; however, no systematic analyses of and their regulatory networks, which is important to increase the yield and protein accumulation in the seeds of quinoa, have been performed to date.
