The purpose of this study was to qualitatively compare three recent techniques of Langerhans cells detection in oral epithelium and to quantitatively compare Langerhans cells in clinically normal and clinically inflamed human gingival biopsies. Eleven subjects were selected who displayed chronic periodontitis and moderate gingival inflammation. A quadrant associated with clinically inflamed tissues was not treated, while the remaining teeth were scaled and root-planed. Two gingival biopsies were taken: clinically normal, treated tissue; and clinically inflamed, untreated tissue. Langerhans cells were stained using HLD-DR, S-100 and OKT6. They were quantitated using a standard grid for OKT6-stained sections only. Approximately 5 times as many Langerhans cells were identified in the biopsy specimens of clinically inflamed human gingiva as in clinically normal gingiva of the same patient. Of the methods studied, OKT6 was qualitatively determined to be the best for visualization of these cells. An immunologic role in the host response to chronic periodontal disease is postulated for Langerhans cells.

Human hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are the major stem cells of the bone marrow and are usually isolated from the peripheral blood. In the present study, we isolated these stem cells by an apheresis method from a donor who was administered granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF). propagation of these stem cells showed a plastic-adherence property expressing CD73 and CD105 surface markers, which is a characteristic feature of MSCs.

Introduction And Importance: Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) is a rare disorder characterized by the proliferation of abnormal Langerhans cells, often presenting with symptoms that mimic common dermatological conditions such as hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Accurate diagnosis is essential because LCH can affect multiple organ systems and necessitates distinct therapeutic approaches.
Case Presentation: We report a rare case of a 39-year-old male with a 7-year history of diabetes insipidus (DI), who presented with polyuria, polydipsia, and enlarging purulent lesions in the axilla and groin.

Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune chronic disorder that damages beta cells in the pancreatic islets of Langerhans and results in hyperglycemia due to the loss of insulin. This study aimed to describe the morphological features and microstructure of the upper, lower, and third eyelids of the black-winged kite, Elanus caeruleus, and to characterize the organized lymphoid follicles and lymphocytes in the eyelid mucosa. Additionally, it aimed to illustrate the importance of the eye adnexa in the eye's immune protection. The upper, lower, and third eyelids display varying morphological differences that seem to be closely linked to the birds' way of life, indicating adjustments to their environment and eating behaviors.
