Background: Reports of autoimmune diseases coexisting with autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (autoimmune PAP; APAP) are extremely rare. APAP coexisting with autoimmune diseases may often be misdiagnosed as connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (ILD). Here, we describe a rare case of a patient with systemic sclerosis who was diagnosed with APAP after the exacerbation of lung opacities during treatment with immunosuppressive agents.

The patient presented with frequent (four to five times a day), loose yellow stool, containing significant mucus. A 72-year-old woman underwent left bundle branch area pacing, and subsequent transthoracic echocardiography demonstrated potential septal lead perforation. Transesophageal echocardiography revealed an intracardiac mass, which resolved with anticoagulation. This case highlights left ventricular thrombus as a potential complication of septal lead perforation.

Acute esophageal necrosis (AEN) is an uncommon endoscopic finding characterized by a patchy or diffuse circumferential black pigmentation of the esophageal mucosa, corresponding to ischemic necrosis. It usually presents with upper gastrointestinal bleeding and is thought to be caused by a systemic low blood flow in patients with predisposing risk factors, like advanced age and cardiovascular comorbidities. After initial hemodynamic stabilization, diagnosis is established by esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) with careful biopsies and histological evaluation.

Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a safe and effective therapy for patients with severe aortic stenosis. A Stuck leaflet and severe intraprosthetic regurgitation after valve implantation occur rarely but can lead to sudden haemodynamic deterioration. We encountered a case of a stuck leaflet following post-dilatation with the Edwards Sapien 3 Ultra RESILIA valve.
