A simple pore microstructure of parallel, identical, and inclined smooth-walled slits in a rigid solid, for which prediction of its geometrical and acoustic properties is straightforward, can yield useful sound absorption. This microstructure should be relatively amenable to 3D printing. Discrepancies between measurements and predictions of normal incidence sound absorption spectra of 3D printed vertical and slanted slit pore samples have been attributed to the rough surfaces of the slit walls and uneven slit cross-sections perpendicular to the printing direction.

Background: Female-specific cancers, particularly breast, cervical, ovarian, and uterine cancers, account for nearly 40% of all cancers in women. This study aimed to analyze the global epidemiological trends of these cancers from 1990 to 2021, offering insights into their evolving patterns and providing valuable information for health policymakers to allocate healthcare resources more effectively.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2021 (GBD 2021) were used to comprehensively assess the global incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) of female-specific cancers.

Introduction: The prevalence of polypharmacy and the increasing availability of pharmacogenetic information in clinical practice have raised the prospect of data-driven clinical decision making when addressing the issues of drug-drug interactions and genetic polymorphisms in metabolizing enzymes. Inhibition of metabolizing enzymes in drug interactions can lead to genotype-phenotype discrepancies (phenoconversion) that reduce the relevance of individual pharmacogenetic information.
Areas Covered: The aim of this review is to provide an overview on existing models of phenoconversion and we discuss how phenoconversion models may be developed to estimate joint drug-interactions and genetic effects.
Introduction Mucormycosis is an uncommon fungal infection caused by filamentous fungi of the Mucorales order, namely Rhizopus, Lichthemia, andMucor species. The incidence and prevalence of mucormycosis reached an all-time high during the COVID-19 pandemic due to excessive steroid use and other factors, leading to the coining of the term CAM (COVID Associated Mucormycosis). The diagnosis of mucormycosis is by a combination of histopathology and microbiological techniques, such as KOH mount and culture.

Using simulated data with duplicate observational data points, this research aims to highlight the notable efficiency of repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) compared to one-way ANOVA as a more powerful statistical model. One of the principal advantages of repeated measures ANOVA is its design, in which each subject acts as their own control. This methodology allows for the statistical mitigation of individual differences among subjects, thereby reducing extraneous variability (noise) that can obscure the effects of the experimental conditions under investigation.
