Proper adhesion of cells to their environment is essential for the normal functioning of single cells and multicellular organisms. To attach to the extracellular matrix (ECM), mammalian cells form integrin adhesion complexes consisting of many proteins that together link the ECM and the actin cytoskeleton. Similar to mammalian cells, the amoeboid cells of the protist Dictyostelium discoideum also use multiprotein adhesion complexes to control their attachment to the underlying surface.

Background: At the European level, several regulatory measures (ie, priority medicines (PRIME) scheme, accelerated assessment, conditional marketing authorisation and authorisation under exceptional circumstances) are in place with the aim to expedite the marketing authorisation process for medicines targeting unmet medical needs (UMNs). However, the potential impact of these measures on subsequent decisions regarding market access at the national level, and ultimately if medicines making use of these supporting measures reach the patient earlier, remains unclear.
Objectives: This study seeks to (1) assess the impact of such European regulatory measures on the number of successful applications and time to reimbursement of this group of medicines in the national context of Belgium and (2) evaluate the association between the application of European regulatory measures and Belgian measures (ie, early access pathways and managed entry agreements).

Cancer photoimmunotherapy represents an intelligent and highly efficient therapeutic approach that harnesses the photothermal effect to precisely target and ablate tumor tissues, while simultaneously modulating the immune system to achieve tumor elimination. The integration of multifunctional therapeutic modalities for combined photoimmunotherapy requires advanced drug delivery systems. The right to health and other health-related human rights are legally binding commitments enshrined in international human rights instruments. While these positions are known and ratified by policy makers, little has been done to actualize men's sexual and reproductive health (SRH) as an integral part of attaining these important global goals. Not addressing men's SRH over and above supporting their female partners sustains the sexual and reproductive risks and burdens that women must bear.
