Alzheimers Dement

December 2024

Hanyang University, Seoul, Seoul, Korea, Republic of (South).

In the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), traditional 40Hz gamma wave stimulation, while effective in improving cognitive function, has been limited by the lengthy duration of treatment. To address this, our study sought to enhance the time efficiency of 40Hz stimulation by utilizing intermittent theta-burst stimulation (iTBS) as a pretreatment. Experiments were conducted on AD mouse models, divided into four groups: no stimulation, 40Hz stimulation only, iTBS stimulation only, and combined iTBS and 40Hz stimulation.

The Effects of Moderate to High Static Magnetic Fields on Pancreatic Damage.

J Magn Reson Imaging

January 2025

High Magnetic Field Laboratory, CAS Key Laboratory of High Magnetic Field and Ion Beam Physical Biology, Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Hefei, China.

Background: Pancreatic damage is a common digestive system disease with no specific drugs. Static magnetic field (SMF), the key component of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), has demonstrated prominent effects in various disease models.

Purpose: To study the effects of 0.

A 4-year-old neutered female domestic shorthair indoor cat was presented with sudden onset of abnormal and painful tail-carriage. The tail was held horizontally for the first centimeters from the base and a flaccid paralysis was evident more distally. Magnetic resonance imaging of the lumbosacral spine and tail revealed a lesion located in the right and muscles along the 1st coccygeal vertebrae.

Sexual dimorphism in lung transcriptomic adaptations in fetal alcohol spectrum disorders.

January 2025

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development, School of Medicine, Wayne State University, 275 E Hancock St, Rm 195, Detroit, MI, 48201, USA.

Current fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD) studies primarily focus on alcohol's actions on the fetal brain although respiratory infections are a leading cause of morbidity/mortality in newborns. The limited studies examining the pulmonary adaptations in FASD demonstrate decreased surfactant protein A and alveolar macrophage phagocytosis, impaired differentiation, and increased risk of Group B streptococcal pneumonia with no study examining sexual dimorphism in adaptations. We hypothesized that developmental alcohol exposure in pregnancy will lead to sexually dimorphic fetal lung morphological and immune adaptations.
