Metabolic syndrome (MetS) includes cardiovascular risk factors like obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and glucose intolerance, which increase the risk of overactive bladder (OAB), characterized by urgency, frequency, urge incontinence, and nocturia. Both MetS and ovarian hormone deficiency (OHD) are linked to bladder overactivity. Nitric oxide (NO) is known to reduce inflammation and promote healing but its effect on bladder overactivity in MetS and OHD is unclear.

ADHD is highly comorbid with Delayed Sleep Phase Syndrome (DSPS). Both are associated with obesity and diabetes, which can be caused by long-term dysregulations of appetite and glucose metabolism. This study explores hormones involved in these processes and the effects of chronotherapeutic interventions in a small sample of adults with ADHD and DSPS.

An environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor was prepared from the bio-based platform 5-hydroxymethylfurfural. This corrosion inhibitor was confirmed to be an efficient mixed-type corrosion inhibitor through a weight loss experiment and electrochemical experiment. Both thermodynamic and kinetic parameters were calculated and discussed, indicating that the adsorption of this bio-based inhibitor on a steel surface is a chemisorption process.
