Published: September 2024

Introduction And Objective: The Catalan Health Service carries out the operational planning of service delivery and organization. The goal is to describe the methodology and procedure followed to perform these functions.

Methods: The process of operational planning in healthcare services (OPHS) is continuous, dynamic, participatory, objective, and adaptable. OPHS can be divided into three stages prior to implementation and evaluation: Service delivery planning, Organization of healthcare resources, and Procurement planning.

Results: Three examples of projects are presented following the POSS framework. It is essential to adapt the process to the characteristics of each project.

Conclusions: The proposed framework is useful to achieve high quality and equity in access to services.

Objectives: Although there has been rapid development in the field of three-dimensional morphological analyses of congenital heart disease, with the three-dimensional volume-rendered images providing visualization of the external vascular anatomy, the precise reproduction of "Swiss-cheese" ventricular septum is not well established. We created three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics based on multi-slice computed tomography of patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects for surgical decision planning of this difficult cardiac defect.

Methods: Seven patients with complex multiple ventricular septal defects were evaluated preoperatively using three-dimensional printed models and computer graphics to plan therapeutic interventions.

Departamento de Recursos del Mar, Centro de Investigación y de Estudios Avanzados, del Instituto Politécnico Nacional, Mérida, Yucatán, México.

Imagery from Landsat 8/9 (L89) and Sentinel-2 A/B (S2) was employed to monitor the velocity migration of Sargassum aggregations. The displacement characteristics of these aggregations offer insights that can inform the formulation of preventive strategies and the planning of harvesting operations for the floating biomass. Images L89 and S2 are sometimes acquired the same day and a few minutes apart.

Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming healthcare, offering significant advancements in patient care, clinical workflows, and nursing education. While AI has the potential to enhance health outcomes and operational efficiency, its integration into nursing practice and education raises critical ethical, social, and educational challenges that must be addressed to ensure responsible and equitable adoption.

Objective: This umbrella review aims to evaluate the integration of AI into nursing practice and education, with a focus on ethical and social implications, and to propose evidence-based recommendations to support the responsible and effective adoption of AI technologies in nursing.

Objectives: The genetic underpinnings of RA remain partially elucidated, motivating our exploration of copy number variations (CNV) and rare variations in the pathogenesis of RA.

Methods: We conducted an integrated analysis of the genome-wide landscape of CNV and exome-wide rare variation associations with RA in the UK Biobank. To strengthen our findings, we corroborated the results by the differentially expressed genes identified from gene expression profiles of synovial tissue of RA patients and health controls.

Background: Atypical Hangman's fractures may involve bilateral C2 pedicle fractures. Surgical fixation is often required to prevent instability and neurological impairment. The Judet technique, involving transpedicular screw fixation, offers a targeted approach to stabilize C2 pedicle fractures while preserving cervical motion.
