Caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE) is a naturally occurring phenolic compound with various biological activities. However, poor water solubility and storage stability limit its application. In this context, sorghum peptides were used to encapsulate CAPE. Sorghum peptides could self-assemble into regularly spherical nanoparticles (SPNs) by hydrophobic interaction and hydrogen bonds. Solubility of encapsulated CAPE was greatly increased, with 9.44 times higher than unencapsulated CAPE in water. Moreover, the storage stability of CAPE in aqueous solution was significantly improved by SPNs encapsulation. In vitro release study indicated that SPNs were able to delay CAPE release during the process of gastrointestinal digestion. Besides, fluorescence quenching analysis showed that a static quenching existed between SPNs and CAPE. The interaction between CAPE and SPNs occurred spontaneously, mainly driven by hydrophobic interactions. The above results suggested that SPNs encapsulation was an effective approach to improve the water solubility and storage stability of CAPE.

The rapid advancements in 3C electronic devices necessitate an increase in the charge cutoff voltage of LiCoO to unlock a higher energy density that surpasses the currently available levels. However, the structural devastation and electrochemical decay of LiCoO are significantly exacerbated, particularly at ≥4.5 V, due to the stress concentration caused by more severe lattice expansion and shrinkage, coupled with heterogeneous Li intercalation/deintercalation reactions.

Using maize plants expressing an apoplast targeted Aspergillus niger ferulic acid esterase (FAEA), with FAEA driven by a Lolium multiflorum senescence enhanced promoter (LmSee1), we extended measurements of FAEA activity to late-stage senescing plants and measured the stability of FAEA activity following stover storage. The impact of FAEA expression on cell wall hydroxycinnamic acid levels and arabinoxylan (AX) cross-links, and on the levels of cell wall sugars, acetyl bromide lignin and sugar release following saccharification by a cocktail of cellulases and xylanases, was assessed during plant development to full leaf senescence. These were determined in both individual internodes and in combined leaves and combined internodes of FAEA expressing and control partner plants.

It has been shown that depositing ketoprofen as thin films on glass substrates has a stabilizing effect on the amorphous state of ketoprofen. Polyethylene glycol ( = 6000 g/mol) was mixed with ketoprofen in a wide range of concentrations. Amorphous thin films were prepared by spin coating and subjected to storage conditions with different levels of relative humidity.

Incorporating non-electrochemically active elements (such as Zn and Mg) into the framework of active components can enhance structural stability, leading to improved cycling performance. However, limited research has been conducted on the impact of varying doping concentrations. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of how different levels of Mg doping in Co(OH) affect the supercapacitor performance.

Background: First-degree relatives of patients suffering from Alzheimer's Dementia (AD) are at increased risk for developing dementia, yet the associations between family history of AD and cognitive dysfunction remain unclear. Our study aims to understand the intricate interplay between familial risk factors and neurocognitive functioning in AD FDRs versus FDRs of other major psychiatric illnesses by comparing the neuro- cognitive functions of unaffected first-degree relatives (FDR) of patients with AD with unaffected FDR of other major psychiatric illness including Schizophrenia(SCHIZ), Substance use disorders(SUD), Obsessive compulsive disorders(OCD) and Bipolar disorder(BPAD). Subsequently, we also compare the Neuro cognitive performance of FDR's of AD at baseline and after two years longitudinally.
