Assessing treatment efficacy for brain tumours has evolved since its inception with the introduction of MacDonald's criteria, which pioneered the utility of imaging to determine an objective and quantifiable response to treatment. This criterion failed to distinguish pseudo response or progression from progression and did not account for non-enhancing disease therefore; the response assessment in neuro-oncology (RANO) working group was established to account for these limitations. Since, its commencement it has worked to determine response assessment for multiple tumours. As paediatric tumours exhibit heterogeneous and variable-enhancing characteristics, the response assessment in paediatric neuro-oncology (RAPNO) working group was formed to create separate criteria. Six response criteria have been published to date, and the article summarizes them.

Previous cross-sectional studies have utilized scales to explore potential indications of the moderating effect of resilience on the relationship between stressful life events (SLEs) and mental health. However, there remains a notable dearth of psychometrically driven models in longitudinal resilience research, especially concerning the prognosis of individuals with affective disorders and/or anxiety. This study aimed to investigate whether baseline resilience capacity, measured by the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale, could mitigate the impact of SLEs on depressive symptoms assessed using the Beck Depression Inventory-II among 66 outpatients with depression and/or anxiety disorders during a follow-up period ranging from 4-8 years.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to assess the usability of a cloud-based home healthcare monitoring platform (CHHM).
Design: A proof of concept using a simulated client scenario was used in this study.
Methods: Using a mixed-methods approach, a convenience sample of 14 nursing students was used to assess the usability of CHHM during a simulation.
Background: Emergency department (ED) encounters are often the only healthcare provider encounter for patients seeking care after a reported sexual assault (SA), making the encounter a crucial opportunity to connect patients to support services in the community. An opportunity existed at an urban Level II trauma center to standardize SA discharge planning.
Aims: This quality improvement project aimed to improve access to SA support services.

Vanin-1 is a pantetheine hydrolase that plays a key role in inflammatory diseases. Effective tools for noninvasive, real-time monitoring of Vanin-1 are lacking, largely due to background fluorescence interference in existing probes. To address this issue, we developed a dual-modal fluorescent and colorimetric probe, MB-Van1, to detect Vanin-1 with high sensitivity and selectivity.

Over the past decade, researchers translating anthropological theories for clinical use have debated how practitioners should assess cultural factors, social structures, and social determinants of health with patients. Advocates of structural competency have suggested that clinical cultural competency programs demonstrate limited effects on health outcomes because of the static understanding of culture employed. They recommend that cultural factors be reformulated with an emphasis on social structures.
