The monospecific genus was described in the year 2021 including a single species (). However, its description relied solely on morphological and anatomical data. In the present work, we use a fraction of the mitochondrial DNA cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI), 16S ribosomal RNA (16S rRNA) and the nuclear large ribosomal subunit (LSU) to clarify its validity through phylogenetic positioning. Knowledge of the distribution of this species is also improved by citing new locations and expanding the geographical range to approximately 200 km. Additionally, a morphometric analysis of 259 shells is presented for comparisons with shells of the complex and testing the power of conchological features as a tool for specimen identification. The relatively high conchological variability found for , together with the discovery of populations with intermediate conchological features between and other closely related taxa, suggest that the determination of this species should be based on genetic criteria. Our molecular analyses demonstrate that belongs to the genus, and thus, we proceed to update its taxonomic status to , and, thus, to consider from now on as a junior synonym of .

Based on molecular and conchological features, a new genus, Bouchetaria, is proposed for the Cypraeidae species Nesiocypraea aenigma Lorenz 2002. Molecular analysis of cox1 and 16S genes places Bouchetaria within a monophyletic group-composed of the genera Propustularia, Nesiocypraea, Ipsa, Perisserosa, Cryptocypraea, and Nucleolaria-appearing as the sister group to all other living Cypraeidae. This group corresponds to the Erosariinae (sensu Lorenz & Hubert, 1993).

Very little is known about the malacofauna in district Swat of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, situated in the Northern part of Pakistan. The Swat valley possesses a variety of suitable environmental conditions, providing different types of habitats for both flora and fauna. Taken into consideration these points, the present study was conducted to explore the terrestrial snails diversity in agricultural and non-agricultural fields in the lower Swat valley.

A new monotypic genus, Turneroconcha, is established for T. magnifica (Boss Turner) which was originally assigned to the genus Calyptogena Dall. The distinguishing morphological characters of the new genus are the combination of both conchological and anatomical features including: the presence of only two tooth elements in the right valve; submerged location of the posterior part of the posterior lamellar ligament layer; the absence of a subumbonal pit, lunular incision, escutcheon and pallial sinus; the presence of both pairs of demibranchs; the tubular structure of marginal parts of the interlamellar septa in gills; an inner valve of the inhalant siphon without processes; tentaculate inner mantle fold 3 and a Z-shaped digestive tract.
