Background And Aim: The current study investigated the association between triglyceride-glucose index (TyG) and triglyceride/HDL-C indices and coronary atherosclerosis extent in diabetic and non-diabetic patients.
Methods And Results: In this case-control study, 1538 individuals were classified into two groups: diabetic and non-diabetic subjects. Each group was further grouped as follows: (1) angiography+ (2) angiography-and (3) subjects without a history of cardiovascular diseases. The TyG and TG/HDL-C indices were compared between the subgroups of the diabetic (n = 407) and non-diabetic (n = 1131) groups. In both diabetic and non-diabetic patients, there was no significant association in TG/HDL-C; and diabetic subjects, angiography+ and angiography-groups had significantly higher TyG (p < 0.05). A high TyG index was associated with a higher risk of angiography+ (OR: 1.883 (1.410-2.514)).
Conclusions: The TyG index, but not the TG/HDL-C, was an independent marker for predicting the severity of coronary stenosis in non-diabetic patients.

Aim: We intended to examine the relationship between estimated glucose disposal rate (eGDR) and risks of all-cause and cardiovascular deaths in non-diabetic adults.
Methods: 38,175 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2018) were included, and deaths were identified through the National Death Index.
Results: With a median follow-up of 9.

Background: The rising prevalence of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2D) in the Qatari population presents a significant public health challenge, highlighting the need for innovative approaches to early detection and management. While most efforts are centered on using blood samples for biomarker discovery, the use of saliva remains underexplored.
Methods: Using noninvasive saliva samples from 2974 Qatari subjects, we analyzed the microbial communities from diabetic, pre-diabetic, and non-diabetic participants based on their HbA1C levels.

The combustion of diesel in engines contributes polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) present in the atmosphere, therefore causing toxic mitigating consequences by eliciting oxidative modulation. Currently, type 2 diabetes mellitus is reported as a global menace, causing about 1.5 million deaths in 2019 and contributing to about 48% of related deaths among the populace aged below 70 years.

Aim And Introduction: Diabetes and prediabetes pose significant global public health challenges. Sex steroids, particularly testosterone and estradiol, play crucial roles in various metabolic processes. This study investigates the relationship between sex hormone levels and long-term mortality in adults with prediabetes and diabetes, as well as those without glucose intolerance.

Prior studies have investigated the efficacy of a single 1 min bout of stair-stepping on reducing postprandial blood glucose (BG) in the morning, but none have investigated this effect in the evening when glycaemic responses are larger due to circadian regulation and β-cell responsiveness. This work investigated the efficacy of a 1 min bout of self-selected, low-intensity stair-stepping performed in the evening on reducing the change from baseline to the 60 min time point postprandial BG. Thirty people (43% male, 29 (10) years) participated in a randomized crossover-controlled trial.
