Article Synopsis
  • *Methods: The trial involved 59 women, split into a KT group and a control group, who had their muscle blood perfusion measured using near-infrared spectroscopy before and after applying the tape, with statistical analysis to compare results.
  • *Results: While there were no significant differences in blood oxygen levels or deoxygenated hemoglobin between the KT and control groups, the KT group showed a notably larger decrease in certain measurements, suggesting potential clinical relevance despite the lack of statistical significance.

Introduction: Kinesio taping (KT) has been extensively applied in the management of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Although plentiful systematic reviews (SRs) have evaluated its efficacy, there are no convincing conclusions due to dispersed and inconclusive results, and its clinical relevance remains unclear. Hence, there is a need to summarise all the SRs for comprehensive and consistent evidence.

Introduction: The effects of Kinesio-taping (KT) and rigid-taping (RT) on vertical jump performance have been investigated; however, remain unclear. The study was designed to compare the effects of KT and RT on vertical jump in individuals with pes planus.

Methods: A total of 74 participants were diagnosed with pes planus.

Posterior edentulism reduces occlusal support, thus increasing the risk and symptoms of temporomandibular disorder. No previous study has explored its effect on the treatment of temporomandibular disorders. This study aimed to examine the relationship between neck posture, balance, and posterior edentulism in patients with temporomandibular disorder and compare the effectiveness of physical therapy.

Deep burns damage the reticular dermis and may lead to the formation of hypertrophic scars. Compression therapy reduces local vascularity and realigns collagen fibers, resulting in esthetic and functional improvements. This study evaluated the effect of Kinesio tape compression with maximum mechanical tension on vascularity, pliability and the height of hypertrophic scars following deep burns.
