Background: Datura metel is reported to induce hallucinations and mental disorders.
Objective: This study investigates the neurotoxic effects of stramonium hydroethanolic root extract on the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of adult rats using biochemical, histological and immunohistochemical techniques.
Methodology: Twenty five adult rats were assigned to 5 groups (n = 5 each).

Introduction: Forensic mental health care is intended to promote recovery and reintegration, but is often experienced by patients as punitive and aversive. Forensic patients are rarely engaged in research to explore what matters most to them, and little guidance exists on how this engagement may be facilitated. In this paper, we explore perceived determinants of readiness to implement forensic patient-oriented research in a high-secure setting.

In the growing field of geriatric psychiatry, the "3 Ds"-depression, dementia, and delirium-are a complex clinical challenge, especially in patients with medical comorbidities. This is a case report of a 96-year-old Saudi woman with chronic kidney disease, heart failure, and recurrent hyponatremia presented with worsening sleep, depression, persecutory delusions, and hallucinations following an intensive care unit (ICU) stay for urinary tract infection. Examination revealed cognitive decline and depressive symptoms, with sodium at 123 mmol/L.

While hearing aids (HAs) with noise reduction (NR) partially address this, the "cocktailparty problem" persists, where individuals struggle to attend to specific voices amidst background noise. This study investigated how NR and an advanced signal processing method for compensating for nonlinearities in EEG signals can improve neural speech processing in HI listeners.
