A new magnetic nano gel (MNG) was prepared from choline chloride/phenol deep eutectic solvent and magnetic amberlite XAD-7 nanocomposite. The dispersive solid phase micro extraction (dSPME) method was developed for seperation and preconcentration of Brilliant Blue FCF (BB) by the prepared MNG. In this study, firstly, the optimum DES type and mole ratio of DES were investigated before response surface methodology optimization. Then, the effect of the MNG-dSPME experimental parameters were optimized by response surface methodology using central composite design. Under the optimum microextraction conditions, limit of detection (LOD), limit of quantification (LOQ), preconcentration factor (PF), enhencament factor (EF) were found to be 1.15 μg L,3.80 µg L, 70, and 88, respectively. It was seen that the recovery of real samples were obtained from 95.5 to 103.6%. The pesent method was succesfully for extraction of BB in some food, personal care samples, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first study that is presented method on determination of BB by preconcentration with magnetic nano gel. The obtained results showed that the present procedure is effective, sensitive, and has high accuracy for the quantitative detection of BB.

Large low-field magnetoresistance (LFMR, < 1 T), related to the spin-disorder scattering or spin-polarized tunneling at boundaries of polycrystalline manganates, holds considerable promise for the development of low-power and ultrafast magnetic devices. However, achieving significant LFMR typically necessitates extremely low temperatures due to diminishing spin polarization as temperature rises. To address this challenge, one strategy involves incorporating Ruddlesden-Popper structures (ABO):AO, which are layered derivatives of perovskite structure capable of potentially inducing heightened magnetic fluctuations at higher temperatures.

Inducing magnetic ordering in a non-ferrous layered double hydroxides (LDHs) instigates higher spin polarization, which leads to enhanced efficiency during oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In nano-sized magnetic materials, the concept of elongated grains drives domain alignment under the application of an external magnetic field. Hence, near the solid electrode interface, modified magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) positively impacts the electrocatalytic ability of non-ferrous nanocatalysts.

A magnetic-biopolymer composite of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), designated as FeO@CMC, was synthesized featuring remarkable stability and an active surface with a green biosynthetic method. This composite was engineered to serve as a substrate for stabilizing silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) with enhanced functional properties. The catalytic efficacy of the nanocatalyst, incorporating Ag NPs at concentrations of 3%, 7%, and 10%, was evaluated for the reduction of the toxic compound 4-nitrophenol to the beneficial 4-aminophenol.

Controlling spin-polarized currents at the nanoscale is of immense importance for high-density magnetic data storage and spin-based logic devices. As electronic devices are miniaturized to the ultimate limit of individual atoms and molecules, electronic transport is strongly influenced by the properties of the individual spin centers and their magnetic interactions. In this work, we demonstrate the precise control and detection of spin-polarized currents through two coupled spin centers at a tunnel junction by controlling their spin-spin interactions.

Global Aromatic Ring Currents in Neutral Porphyrin Nanobelts.

ACS Nano

January 2025

Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Oxford, Oxford OX1 3TA, U.K.

The ability of a ring-shaped molecule to sustain a global aromatic or antiaromatic ring current when placed in a magnetic field indicates that its electronic wave function is coherently delocalized around its whole circumference. Large molecules that display this behavior are attractive components for molecular electronic devices, but this phenomenon is rare in neutral molecules with circuits of more than 40 π-electrons. Here, we use theoretical methods to investigate how the global ring currents evolve with increasing ring size in cyclic molecular nanobelts built from edge-fused porphyrins.
