GATA6 syndrome is a rare monogenic disorder caused by heterozygous variants in the gene , which controls the early embryonic differentiation of germ layers and the development of different organs. We present the results of the 7-year follow-up of a child with this syndrome as well as the following conditions: diabetes mellitus, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, gallbladder atresia, and congenital heart disease (CHD). At birth, the patient was diagnosed with neonatal diabetes mellitus (NDM) associated with heart (mitral valve prolapse) and gastrointestinal abnormalities (gallbladder atresia).

Using nanotechnology, while improving the health of broiler chickens, it is possible to control and reduce the conflict of minerals in the intestines, and toxicity of and pollution by these elements. It could be shown that the antioxidant and immune modulation effects of nano selenium are significantly superior compared to other sources of selenium. In addition, improving the quality of meat products with the use of nano selenium has promising results in the future perspective of quality improvement and food safety.

Despite the achievements of modern medicine, tuberculosis remains one of the leading causes of mortality globally. Umbilical venous catheterization is a common procedure in the neonatal care unit. Although it is an easy procedure, insertion under suboptimal techniques may have devastating effects on the newborn. We present a rare case of umbilical venous catheter (UVC) malposition complicated with respiratory distress, pleural effusion, and acute kidney injury.
