A 47-year-old woman presented to our hospital with Stanford type B aortic dissection with retrograde arch extension. The decision was made to undergo hybrid arch repair with thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The patient underwent surgery, but her intraoperative course was complicated by delayed sternal closure and mediastinitis requiring flap reconstruction.

The spread of pan-resistant pathogens requires the development of effective alternative antimicrobial measures, in particular, bacteriophage therapy. A clinical case of a 42-year-old patient with a closed spinal cord injury, lower paraplegia, pelvic organs dysfunction, post-traumatic right ureteral stricture, and right kidney stones is presented in the article.

This resistant pathogen poses a significant challenge to healthcare professionals because it not only restricts patient care through ineffective treatment modalities but also leads to high mortality and morbidity rates. The prolonged infusion of meropenem is recommended by guidelines for the treatment of sepsis. However, studies provide controversial data on the advantages of prolonged infusions over intermittent ones. In our opinion, this can be related to age, which possibly distorts the final data, as older people have age-related characteristics.
