This study aimed to develop and validate a predictive model for failure to collect oocytes in the Patient-Oriented Strategies Encompassing Individualized Oocyte Number (POSEIDON) Groups 3 and 4 during their first in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection (IVF/ICSI) cycle. A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients in POSEIDON Groups 3 and 4 who underwent their first IVF/ICSI cycle at our center from January 2016 to December 2023. A total of 2,373 patients were randomly assigned to the training or validation cohort at a ratio of 6:4.

An improved practical Byzantine fault tolerance algorithm for aggregating node preferences.

Sci Rep

December 2024

School of Information Engineering, Yangzhou University, Yangzhou, Jiangsu, China.

Consensus algorithms play a critical role in maintaining the consistency of blockchain data, directly affecting the system's security and stability, and are used to determine the binary consensus of whether proposals are correct. With the development of blockchain-related technologies, social choice issues such as Bitcoin scaling and main chain forks, as well as the proliferation of decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) applications based on blockchain technology, require consensus algorithms to reach consensus on a specific proposal among multiple proposals based on node preferences, thereby addressing the multi-value consensus problem. However, existing consensus algorithms, including Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT), do not support nodes expressing preferences.

The article is motivated by an application to the EarlyBird cohort study aiming to explore how anthropometrics and clinical and metabolic processes are associated with obesity and glucose control during childhood. There is interest in inferring the relationship between dynamically changing and high-dimensional metabolites and a longitudinal response. Important aspects of the analysis include the selection of the important set of metabolites and the accommodation of missing data in both response and covariate values.

Conventional control charts track changes in the process by using predefined process parameters. Conversely, during online monitoring, adaptive control charts modify the process parameters. To improve the process dispersion monitoring in various operational environments, this study presents an adaptive exponentially weighted moving average (AEWMA) control chart based on support vector regression (SVR).

scRNA + BCR-seq identifies proportions and characteristics of dual BCR B cells in the peritoneal cavity of mice and peripheral blood of healthy human donors across different ages.

Immun Ageing

December 2024

Department of Immunology, Center of Immuno-molecular Engineering, Innovation & Practice Base for Graduate Students Education, Zunyi Medical University, Zunyi, China.

The increased incidence of inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases, autoimmune disorders, and tumors in elderly individuals is closely associated with several well-established features of immunosenescence, including reduced B cell genesis and dampened immune responses. Recent studies have highlighted the critical role of dual receptor lymphocytes in tumors and autoimmune diseases. This study utilized shared data generated through scRNA-seq + scBCR-seq technology to investigate the presence of dual receptor-expressing B cells in the peritoneum of mouse and peripheral blood of healthy volunteers, and whether there are age-related differences in dual receptor B cell populations.
