The use of creatine monohydrate (Cr) in professional soccer is widely documented. However, the effect of low doses of Cr on the physical performance of young soccer players is unknown. This study determined the effect of a low dose of orally administered Cr on muscle power after acute intra-session fatigue in young soccer players. Twenty-eight young soccer players (mean age = 17.1 ± 0.9 years) were randomly assigned to either a Cr (n = 14, 0.3 g·kg·day for 14 days) or placebo group (n = 14), using a two-group matched, double-blind, placebo-controlled design. Before and after supplementation, participants performed 21 repetitions of 30 m (fatigue induction), and then, to measure muscle power, they performed four repetitions in half back squat (HBS) at 65% of 1RM. Statistical analysis included a two-factor ANOVA ( ˂ 0.05). Bar velocity at HBS, time: = 0.0006, ŋp2 = 0.22; group: = 0.0431, ŋp2 = 0.12, time × group = 0.0744, ŋp2 = 0.02. Power at HBS, time: = 0.0006, ŋp2 = 0.12; group: = 0.16, ŋp2 = 0.06, time × group: = 0.17, ŋp2 = 0.009. At the end of the study, it was found that, after the induction of acute intra-session fatigue, a low dose of Cr administered orally increases muscle power in young soccer players.

Sleep hygiene can be defined as practicing habits that facilitate sleep; poor sleep hygiene is common among elite athletes, and improving this can be one way to enhance sleep indices. Given the large inter-individual variability of sleep, there is a need for further investigation into individualised sleep hygiene for elite female athletes, with consideration for the practical application of the method. Using a self-controlled time series design with repeated measures, n = 16 professional female footballers completed a 9-week study during mid-season.

Purpose: To compare football players who have undergone one anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR) with those who have undergone a subsequent ACLR (revision or contralateral) regarding (1) demographics, (2) football-related factors and (3) injury-specific data.
Methods: Players who voluntarily completed a football-specific questionnaire available at the Swedish National Knee Ligament Registry website between April 2017 and September 2020 at the time of their primary ACL injury were included in the study. The questionnaire covered demographics, football-related activities and injury-specific factors.

In the field of muscle fatigue models (MFMs), the prior research has demonstrated success in fitting data in specific contexts, but it falls short in addressing the diverse efforts and rapid changes in exertion typical of soccer matches. This study builds upon the existing model, aiming to enhance its applicability and robustness to dynamic demand shifts. The objective is to encapsulate the complexities of soccer dynamics with a streamlined set of parameters.

Adequate nutrition is crucial for athletes to enhance performance and recovery. This study investigates the acute effects of omega-3 and whey protein supplementation before and after exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD) on lower-body strength, explosive power, and delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) in female futsal players. A randomized, cross-over, placebo-controlled, double-blind study involved 15 female futsal players (Age: 22.
