Tinnitus can severely impair people's quality of life. Stress has been involved in the pathogenesis of multiform mental disorders. Tinnitus-related annoying symptoms have a negative effect on the life quality of tinnitus sufferers. The aim of this study is to explore the association between stress and the symptomatic tinnitus. A total of 183 participants were categorized into 3 groups, depending on the presence of tinnitus-related symptoms. All participants underwent audiological examination, and their demographic data were collected via a questionnaire. Furthermore, the Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS), the Tinnitus Handicapped Inventory (THI), and Tinnitus Questionnaire were filled by tinnitus patients. The mean SRRS score in symptomatic (tinnitus-related symptoms) group was higher than that in asymptomatic group and the control group ( < .001), meanwhile no difference in this score was reported between asymptomatic group and control group. SRRS score (Grade 2) is an independent risk factor for symptomatic tinnitus. The SRRS score were positively correlated with THI scores. Stress is related to the occurrence of symptomatic tinnitus.

Bow Hunter syndrome (BHS) is a rare disorder characterized by mechanical occlusion of the vertebral artery (VA) during neck rotation, resulting in symptomatic, transient, and positional vertebrobasilar insufficiency. We describe a case of a 76-year-old female who presented with dizziness and right ear tinnitus triggered by right head rotation. Background: Intrameatal vascular loops (IVL) entering the internal auditory meatus (IAM) and neurovascular contact (NVC) with the vestibulo-cochlear nerve (CN VIII) have been proposed to have a relationship with audio-vestibular symptoms.
Purpose: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine whether the presence of IVLs and CN VIII NVC on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is associated with tinnitus, sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) or vertigo and any specific subtypes.
Data Sources: All studies comparing the presence of IVL or CN VIII NVC in ears with these audio-vestibular symptoms and controls were identified through MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science Core Collection, Scopus and Cochrane Register of Controlled Trials databases.
