In this work, magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) capable of selectively recognizing and adsorbing cordycepin was prepared. The MMIP was prepared using cordycepin as the template molecule, methacrylic acid and acrylamide as the functional monomer and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as the crosslinker. The MMIP was analyzed using various techniques including transmission electron microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, vibrating sample magnetometer and x-ray diffraction.

Fluoromethyl triflate (superfluoromethyl, SFM, FCH2OSO2CF3) and fluoromethyl fluorosulfonate (magic fluoromethyl, MFM, FCH2OSO2F) are two easily synthesized, highly effective and non-ozone depleting fluoromethylation reagents. They are analogous to the well-known and widely used methylation re-agents CH3OSO2CF3 and CH3OSO2F. Both SFM and MFM have been fully characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C, 17O, 19F, 33S).

CASSAD: Chroma-Augmented Semi-Supervised Anomaly Detection for Conveyor Belt Idlers.

Sensors (Basel)

November 2024

School of Information and Physical Sciences, The University of Newcastle, Newcastle, NSW 2308, Australia.

Idlers are essential to conveyor systems, as well as supporting and guiding belts to ensure production efficiency. Proper idler maintenance prevents failures, reduces downtime, cuts costs, and improves reliability. Most studies on idler fault detection rely on supervised methods, which depend on large labelled datasets for training.

This study investigates the dynamic stiffness and damping characteristics of three polyurethane materials-PM, PS, and PST-using a comprehensive vibroacoustic testing approach. The aim is to examine material parameters such as dynamic stiffness, Young's modulus, critical damping factor, and the influence of sample irregularities on the accuracy of measurements. The study employs both experimental testing, in which cuboidal and cylindrical polyurethane samples were subjected to sinusoidal excitation, and finite element modeling (FEM) to simulate the test conditions in sample without irregularities.

Influence of Temperature on the Damping Properties of Selected Viscoelastic Materials.

Materials (Basel)

November 2024

Doctoral School of Engineering and Technical Sciences, Rzeszow University of Technology, al. Powst. Warszawy 12, 35-959 Rzeszów, Poland.

The paper presents results of experimental investigations of the influence of temperature on the effectiveness of passive vibration isolation. Two types of viscoelastic materials (butyl rubber and bituminous material) were tested. In the performed vibration analysis, the Oberst beam made out of aluminum alloy with a damping material in a Free Layer Damping (FLD) configuration was used.
