Role of P2X7 receptor in the progression and clinicopathological characteristics of gastric cancer.

Sci Rep

December 2024

Department of Gastroenterology, The Second Affiliated Hospital, Jiangxi Medical College, Nanchang University, Nanchang city, Jiangxi province, China.

P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) plays a role in regulating tumor progression, but it is unclear whether P2X7R affects the pathological characteristics of patients with gastric cancer and the activity of gastric cancer cells. Therefore, this study preliminarily investigated the relationship between P2X7R and clinicopathological features of patients with gastric cancer, and further explored the effect of P2X7R on the proliferation, migration and invasion of gastric cancer cells through functional experiments. The results showed that P2X7R was highly expressed in gastric cancer tissues and gastric cancer cells.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) represent new anticancer agents and have been used worldwide. However, ICI can potentially induce life-threatening severe cutaneous adverse reaction (SCAR), such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome/toxic epidermal necrolysis (SJS/TEN), hindering continuous ICI therapy. We examine 6 cohorts including 25 ICI-induced SJS/TEN patients and conduct single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) analysis, which shows overexpression of macrophage-derived CXCL10 that recruits CXCR3 cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) in blister cells from ICI-SJS/TEN skin lesions.

Mechanical Force-Induced cGAS Activation in Carcinoma Cells Facilitates Splenocytes into Liver to Drive Metastasis.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

December 2024

Department of General Surgery, National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Biodiagnostic & Biotherapy, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Xi'an, Shaanxi, 710004, China.

Liver metastasis is the main cause of cancer-related mortality. During the metastasis process, circulating carcinoma cells hardly pass through narrow capillaries, leading to nuclear deformation. However, the effects of nuclear deformation and its underlying mechanisms on metastasis need further study.

Exciton Transport in Perovskite Materials.

Adv Mater

December 2024

Department of Chemical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA.

Halide perovskites have emerged as promising materials for a wide variety of optoelectronic applications, including solar cells, light-emitting devices, photodetectors, and quantum information applications. In addition to their desirable optical and electronic properties, halide perovskites provide tremendous synthetic flexibility through variation of not only their chemical composition but also their structure and morphology. At the heart of their use in optoelectronic technologies is the interaction of light with electronic excitations in the form of excitons.
