The first-choice imaging test for visualization of thromboemboli in the pulmonary vasculature in patients with suspected acute pulmonary embolism (PE) is multidetector computed tomography pulmonary angiography (CTPA) - a readily available and widely used imaging technique. Through technological advancements over the past years, alternative imaging techniques for the diagnosis of PE have become available, whilst others are still under investigation. In particular, the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to enable further innovation in diagnostic management of PE. In this narrative review, current CTPA techniques and the emerging technology photon-counting CT (PCCT), as well as other modern imaging techniques of acute PE are discussed, including CTPA with iodine maps based on subtraction or dual-energy acquisition, single-photon emission CT (SPECT), magnetic resonance angiography (MRA), and magnetic resonance direct thrombus imaging (MRDTI). Furthermore, potential applications of AI are discussed.

Posttraumatic upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB) is a very rare consequence of blunt liver trauma. It can be quite a diagnostic challenge for clinicians, as it can clinically manifest many weeks after the trauma or be scantily symptomatic. The following article would like to provide an analysis of clinical cases of 13 patients following blunt liver injuries, the main symptoms of which was bleeding into the gastrointestinal tract through the biliary tree.

Intracranial atherosclerosis (ICAS) is a major cause of ischemic stroke, disproportionately affecting populations with significant vascular risk factors. Although ICAS imposes a considerable health burden, research on this condition in Central Asia remains scarce, especially among the Kazakh population. This study analyzes demographic characteristics, treatment outcomes, and procedural challenges associated with ICAS in 216 patients treated at a single institution.

Modern city construction focuses on developing smart transportation, but the recognition of the large number of non-motorized vehicles in the city is still not sufficient. Compared to fixed recognition equipment, drones have advantages in image acquisition due to their flexibility and maneuverability. With the dataset collected from aerial images taken by drones, this study proposed a novel lightweight architecture for small objection detection based on YOLO framework, named EBR-YOLO.

This paper addresses the challenges of low accuracy and long transfer learning time in small-sample bearing fault diagnosis, which are often caused by limited samples, high noise levels, and poor feature extraction. We propose a method that combines an improved capsule network with a Siamese neural network. Multi-view data partitioning is used to enrich data diversity, and Markov transformation converts one-dimensional vibration signals into two-dimensional images, enhancing the visualization of signal features.

Grapevines are subjected to many physiological and environmental stresses that influence their vegetative and reproductive growth. Water stress, cold damage, and pathogen attacks are highly relevant stresses in many grape-growing regions. Precision viticulture can be used to determine and manage the spatial variation in grapevine health within a single vineyard block.
