Autoimmune enteritis (AIE) is a rare inflammatory condition with intractable diarrhea and malnutrition. Most cases are diagnosed during infancy, but rare adult-onset cases can occur. We present a male patient in his 60s with a history of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis on etanercept who developed refractory and intractable diarrhea and malnutrition.

The multi-faceted roles of MYC in the prognosis of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Leuk Lymphoma

January 2025

Centre de Recherches en Cancérologie de Toulouse, INSERM UMR1037, CNRS UMR5071, Université Toulouse III-Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France.

In this review, we focus on the pro-oncogene MYC, the modes of deregulation in mouse and human B-cells, its undisputable importance in the evaluation of biological prognostication of patients, but also how it impacts on response to modern therapeutics, and how it should be targeted to improve the overall survival of chronic lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL) patients. After an overview of the current understanding of the molecular dysregulation of c-MYC, we will show how CLL, both in its indolent and transformed phases, has developed among other B-cell lymphomas a tight regulation of its expression through the chronic activation of B-Cell Receptors (among others). This is particularly important if one desires to understand the mechanisms at stake in the over-expression of c-MYC especially in the lymph nodes compartment.

Reduced number of regulatory T cells in maternal circulation precede idiopathic spontaneous preterm labor in a subset of patients.

Am J Obstet Gynecol

December 2024

Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, General University Hospital in Prague and First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. Electronic address:

Background: Accumulating evidence suggests that spontaneous preterm labor is a syndrome caused by multiple pathological processes. The breakdown of maternal-fetal tolerance has been proposed as a key mechanism of idiopathic spontaneous preterm labor, often viewed as a chronic inflammatory process resulting from the maternal immune system's impaired tolerance of the fetus from early pregnancy. Regulatory T cells are crucial for maintaining maternal-fetal tolerance.

Fungal infection in patients treated with Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor, from epidemiology to clinical outcome: A systematic review.

Clin Microbiol Infect

December 2024

Sorbonne Université, CIMI-Paris, AP-HP, Service de Parasitologie-Mycologie, Hopital de La Pitie-Salpetriere, F-75013 Paris, France. Electronic address:

Background: Bruton Tyrosine Kinase inhibitor (BTKi) emerged as key treatment for B-cell lymphomas. Despite its efficacy in the treatment of malignancies, numerous cases of invasive fungal infections (IFI) have been reported in patients receiving ibrutinib, a first generation BTKi. Cases of invasive aspergillosis have also been reported with acalabrutinib and zanubrutinib.

Introduction And Importance: Orbital lymphomas, are extranodal lymphomas primarily involving the ocular adnexa, which includes conjunctiva, eyelids, eyelashes, eyebrows, lacrimal glands, retro-orbital soft tissues, and the extraocular muscles. Ocular adnexal lymphomas can be primary or secondary. This case is important because there are few case reports in the world, and it is among the first case to be reported from Ethiopia.
