Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) imposes a significant global health and economic burden, impacting millions globally. Despite its high prevalence, public awareness and understanding of CKD remain limited, leading to delayed diagnosis and suboptimal management. Traditional patient education methods, such as 1-on-1 verbal instruction or printed brochures, are often insufficient, especially considering the shortage of nursing staff.

The objectives of the project Set-to-change is to test whether and how early life environmental factors and genetic makeup regulate brain and cognition and its change, as well as neurocognitive plasticity in response to training through the lifespan.
Method: Preliminary analyses for the first months are presented.
Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is characterized by progressive cognitive decline. Early detection of AD is essential for timely intervention and treatment. The objective of this study is to explore the potential usefulness of virtual reality (VR) tasks combined with frontal EEG recordings for early detection of cognitive impairment in individuals with SCD (subject cognitive decline), MCI (mild cognitive impairment), and AD (Alzheimer's disease).

Background: Increasing prevalence of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and limited pharmacological intervention benefits to decelerate early neurodegeneration have prompted exploration of non-pharmacological options. Recent studies indicate that combining cognitive-motor training enhances outcomes.
Methods: In a single-blind, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial of middle-aged adults with a parental history of AD, the experimental group (N = 22) underwent training with newly developed "real-world" intensive, progressive, virtual reality (VR) tasks, while walking on a treadmill.
Background: In 2022, The Good Life program for healthy brain aging (TGL) was recognized by Governor Newsom and his Task Force on Alzheimer's Prevention and Preparedness as a new Standard of Care for Alzheimer's disease preventive medicine in California. TGL is a large geriatric focused public health initiative that promotes healthy lifestyles to older adults from all walks of life. It is made up of a series of three lifestyle intervention (LSI) classes that are produced and delivered on a video conferencing platform.
