The climate fluctuations during the Late Pleistocene significantly influenced the phylogeographic structure and historical dynamics of marine fishes in the marginal seas of the western Pacific Ocean. The puffer fish, , holds substantial nutritional and economic value in the South China Sea. To investigate the demographic history and population structure of the , the mitochondrial DNA and Cyt gene datasets from 300 individuals across eight populations in the South China Sea were sequenced. Our findings revealed high haplotype diversity (0.874 ± 0.013) and low nucleotide diversity (0.00075 ± 0.00058). The phylogenetic tree and haplotype networks revealed no significant genetic differentiation along the northern coast of South China Sea. Neutrality tests, mismatch distribution analyses, and Bayesian skyline plots suggested that underwent population expansion during the Late Pleistocene. Both ocean currents and climate change significantly influenced the geographical distribution and genetic population structure of .

Safety and efficacy of tirofiban in the endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms: a systematic evaluation and meta-analysis.

Neurosurg Rev

January 2025

Hengyang Key Laboratory of Hemorrhagic Cerebrovascular Disease, Department of Neurosurgery, the Second Affiliated Hospital, Hengyang Medical School, University of South China, Hengyang, 421000, Hunan, China.

Patients with intracranial aneurysms (IA) undergoing endovascular treatment face varying risks and benefits when tirofiban is used for thromboprophylaxis during surgery. Currently, there is a lack of high-level evidence summarizing this information. This study aims to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy and safety of tirofiban during endovascular treatment of IA.

Adipose-derived stem cells regulate mitochondrial dynamics to alleviate the aging of HFF-1 cells.

In Vitro Cell Dev Biol Anim

January 2025

Department of Outpatient Service, The Affiliated Nanhua Hospital, Hengyang Medical School, University of South China, Hengyang, 421002, Hunan, China.

The objective of this study is to explore how adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) regulate mitochondrial structure and function and the impact of this regulation on slowing cellular senescence. HFF-1 cells were induced by HO to establish a cellular senescence model, and ASCs or Mdivi-1 (mitochondrial fission inhibitor) was added. MTT examined the cell proliferation; flow cytometry detected mitochondrial membrane potential as well as apoptosis and cell cycle; kit measured ATP production; ELISA analyzed the levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin 1 beta (IL-1β), tumor necrosis factor alpha-like (TNF-α), glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA), and superoxide dismutase (SOD); Western blotting and qRT-PCR detected the expression of protein and mRNA levels; and β-galactosidase staining observed the degree of cellular senescence.

Chytridiomycosis is a wildlife disease that has caused significant declines in amphibian populations and species extinctions worldwide. Asia, where the causal pathogens Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) and B. salamndrivorans (Bsal) originated, has not witnessed mass die-offs.

January 2025

Department of Pediatrics, Ganzhou People's Hospital, No. 16 Meiguan Avenue, Zhanggong District, Ganzhou, 341000, Jiangxi Province, China.

Unlabelled: This research aimed to describe the effect of azithromycin combined with fluticasone propionate aerosol inhalation on immune function in children with chronic cough caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) infection. This study was a retrospective analysis in which 110 children with chronic cough caused by MP infection were divided into two groups based on different treatment methods: 58 cases in the control group treated with azithromycin dry suspension and 52 cases in the intervention group treated with azithromycin dry suspension and fluticasone propionate inhalation aerosol. Lung function, inflammatory factors, immune indicators, laboratory-related indicators, adverse reactions, and therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.
