Background: Tularemia is a zoonotic infection caused by , an aerobic, facultative intracellular coccobacillus, encountered especially in the Northern hemisphere. is a pathogen of humans and hundreds of animal species.
Patients And Methods: A Belgian traveler returning from an adventurous vacation in Central Europe presents fever, flu-like symptoms, a skin ulcer with a necrotic center resembling an eschar on the left thigh and painful left inguinal lymphadenopathy. An enzyme linked immunosorbent assay developed by the National Reference Laboratory for Tularemia, Sciensano, Belgium, detected elevated Ig G antibodies against , while the rest of the serologies were negative.
Results: A highly likely case of ulceroglandular tularemia is described and the differential diagnosis is discussed.
Conclusion: The incidence of tularemia has been increasing throughout Europe in recent years. Physicians should be aware of this disease, its diversity of reservoirs, transmission routes and clinical presentations.

Background: The majority of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infections in young children are managed in primary care, however, the disease burden in this setting remains poorly defined.
Methods: We did a prospective cohort study in primary care settings in Belgium, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, and the UK during the RSV seasons of 2020-21 (UK only; from Jan 1, 2021), 2021-22, and 2022-23. Children aged younger than 5 years presenting to their general practitioner or primary care paediatrician with symptoms of an acute respiratory tract infection were eligible for RSV testing.

Background: The use of multiagent FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy for pancreatic adenocarcinoma in a neoadjuvant setting has been associated with an increased rate of complete pathological response (CPR) after surgery. This study investigated the long-term outcomes of patients with CPR in a multicenter setting to identify prognostic factors for overall survival (OS) and recurrence-free survival (RFS).
Methods: This retrospective cohort study examined biopsy-proven pancreatic adenocarcinomas with CPR after neoadjuvant chemotherapy or chemoradiotherapy and surgery, between January 2006 and December 2023 across 22 French and 2 Belgian centers.

Hidradenitis suppurativa is an inflammatory skin disease for which adalimumab is an effective treatment in just over half of cases. Few factors associated with therapeutic response, and therefore potentially predictive of response, are known to date. This real-life study retrospectively explores the existence of such factors in a Belgian cohort of 82 patients, using several response scores: the Hidradenitis Suppurativa Clinical Response (HiSCR), the International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Scoring System-55 (iHS4-55), and the dynamic metascore (a combination of the Hurley score, the 2007 version of the Sartorius score, the iHS4 and the HiSCR).

The adoption of Standardized Structured Reporting (SSR) in pathology offers significant potential to improve data consistency, completeness, and interoperability. This study combines quantitative data from an online survey of Belgian pathologists with qualitative insights from focus group interviews to identify key factors influencing SSR implementation. Survey results demonstrate strong support for SSR, particularly in enhancing report uniformity, completeness, and efficiency, especially in multidisciplinary teams and for secondary data use.
