The performance of tin halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) has been severely limited by the rapid crystallization of tin perovskites, which usually leads to an undesirable film quality. In this work, we tackle this issue by regulating the nucleation and crystal growth of tin perovskite films using a small Lewis base additive, urea. The urea-SnI interaction facilitates the formation of larger and more uniform clusters, thus accelerating the nucleation process. Additionally, the crystal growth process is extended, resulting in a high-quality tin perovskite film with compact morphology, increased crystallinity, and reduced defects. Consequently, the efficiency of tin PSCs is significantly increased from 10.42% to 14.22%. This work highlights the importance of manipulating the nucleation and crystal growth of tin perovskites to realize efficient tin PSCs.

Unlocking Advanced Architectures of Single-Crystal Metal-Organic Frameworks.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

The synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with diverse geometries has captivated considerable interest due to their manifestation of novel and extraordinary properties. While much progress has been made in shaping regular polyhedral single-crystal MOFs, the creation of more complex, topologically intricate nanostructures remains a largely unexplored frontier. Here, we present a refined site-specific anisotropic assembly and etching co-mediation approach to fabricate a series of hierarchical MOF nanohybrids and single-crystal MOFs.

Traditional tetrahedral-based mid-to-far infrared (MFIR) nonlinear optical (NLO) crystals often face limitations due to the optical anisotropy constraints imposed by their highly symmetric structures. In contrast, the relatively rare trigonal pyramidal [TeS] functional unit characterized by its asymmetric structure and stereochemically active lone pair (SCALP), offers improved optical anisotropy, hyperpolarizability and a broader IR transparency range. Despite its potential, synthetic challenges have hindered the development of MFIR NLO crystals that incorporate this unit, with only one example reported to date.

Objective: To investigate the physiological characteristics of subspecies (Bti) with double mutations of and genes and to assess the activity of Bti against larvae of under different external factors, so as to provide the theoretical evidence for the use of engineered bacteria of Bti for effective mosquito control.

Methods: wild-type strain Bt-59 and Bt-59 strain with mutation [Bt-59 (Δ)] were cultured in nutrient broth media for 24 hours, and Bt-59 strains with mutation [Bt-59 (Δ)] and double mutations of and [Bt-59 (Δ)] were cultured in nutrient broth media for 48 hours. Then, 5 μL of culture media were transferred to glass sides, and cell morphology and mother cell lysis were observed under an optical microscope.

Background: Burnout, disengagement, and turnover among clinicians is a major challenge for the US health care industry. Research has shown that higher direct supervisor leadership scores correlate with decreased provider burnout and increased professional fulfillment. Safety-net health systems such as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) face increased challenges due to limited financial resources, more complex social determinants of health among patients, and often fewer physician leaders who can serve as mentors compared to large, integrated health systems.
