Myxofibrosarcoma is a type of soft tissue sarcoma, predominantly characterized by a high propensity for local recurrence, albeit demonstrating a relatively diminished risk for distant metastasis. Its prevalence is notably higher in elderly patients. Here, we present a case of a 73-year-old woman diagnosed with Myxofibrosarcoma. She was subjected to a whole-body bone scan using Tc-methylene diphosphonate (MDP) to survey potential bony metastasis. It revealed marked MDP accumulation with peripheral soft tissue uptake in the right lateral chest region of this patient. This imaging phenotype could potentially be attributed to the augmented vascularity within the tumor, a finding that was prominently displayed in this particular case.

Objective: Meta-analysis was used to evaluate the effects of an exercise intervention on bone mineral content (BMC), bone mineral density (BMD), and bone metabolism in adolescents.
Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science for RCTs on "exercise, adolescents, BMD, bone metabolism" up to 10 September 2024. Included RCTs focused on effects of exercise on BMC, BMD, and bone metabolism in 10-19 years old, with physical activity as exercise group and daily living/primal exercise as control group.

Prostate cancer frequently metastasizes to bones; however, the detection of metastases can be challenging in rare locations. We present the case of a 76-year-old man with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer with lymph nodal and skeletal metastases who underwent 177Lu-prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) therapy. Initial 18F-PSMA PET/CT scan acquired until the midthigh failed to identify metastases in the foot, but posttherapy 177Lu-PSMA scan revealed the presence of metastases in the navicular and cuboid bones of the right foot, which is a very rare finding.

Background/objectives: Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is associated with an increased risk of adverse musculoskeletal outcomes likely due to heightened chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, and advanced glycation end-products (AGE). Carnosine has been shown to have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative, and anti-AGE properties. However, no clinical trials have examined the impact of carnosine on musculoskeletal health in adults with prediabetes or T2D.

Gaucher disease (GD), the most common ultra-rare metabolic disorder, results from lipid accumulation. Systemic inflammation, cellular stress, and metabolic dysfunction may influence endocrine function, including the thyroid. This study evaluated thyroid function and morphology in 60 GD patients, alongside carbohydrate and lipid metabolism.

This article presents 582 bone scan images from 291 adult patients who attended the Nuclear Medicine Service at the Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias de la Salud (IICS) of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (UNA), Paraguay, between 2020 and 2024. The images were acquired using trimodal SPECT-CT-PET equipment, model AnyScan SCP, and the MEDISO brand. Approximately 20 mCi of technetium-99m methylene diphosphonate (Tc-MDP) was administered to each patient, producing whole-body planar images in anterior and posterior projections of the axial and appendicular skeleton with a resolution of 256 × 1024 pixels.
