Item response theory for the color-picture version of Boston naming test in a Chinese sample with neurodegenerative diseases.

J Alzheimers Dis

December 2024

Innovation Center for Neurological Disorders, Department of Neurology, Xuanwu Hospital, Capital Medical University, Beijing, China.

Background: Although Boston Naming Test has been thoroughly validated at a global level, there is limited assessment of item-level properties using modern psychometric methods.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the construct validity and item-level properties of the color-picture version of Boston Naming Test (CP-BNT) in a Chinese cohort with neurodegenerative diseases.

Methods: This retrospective study included 424 participants, consisting of 118 normal controls, 152 with Alzheimer's disease, 101 with primary progressive aphasia, and 53 with other neurodegenerative diseases.

Background And Objective: Very preterm infants are susceptible to neurodevelopmental impairments, necessitating early detection of prognostic biomarkers for timely intervention. The study aims to explore possible functional biomarkers for very preterm infants at born that relate to their future cognitive and motor development using resting-state fMRI. Prior studies are limited by the sample size and suffer from efficient functional connectome (FC) construction algorithms that can handle the noisy data contained in neonatal time series, leading to equivocal findings.

New high-quality human genome assemblies derived from lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) provide reference genomes and pangenomes for genomics studies. However, the characteristics of LCLs pose technical challenges to profiling immunoglobulin (IG) genes. IG loci in LCLs contain a mixture of germline and somatically recombined haplotypes, making them difficult to genotype or assemble accurately.

Factors Related to the Recurrence of Sickness Absence Due to Common Mental Health Disorders: A Systematic Review.

J Occup Rehabil

July 2024

Tranzo, Scientific Center for Care and Wellbeing, Tilburg School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Tilburg University, Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Purpose: Employees who experience sickness absence (SA) due to common mental disorders (CMD) are at increased risk of recurrent sickness absence (RSA). This systematic literature review examines the factors at different levels in the work and non-work context that increase or decrease the likelihood of RSA due to CMD. The resulting knowledge enables more accurate identification of employees at risk of RSA.
