DFNA1 (deafness, nonsyndromic autosomal dominant 1), initially identified as nonsyndromic sensorineural hearing loss, has been associated with an additional symptom: macrothrombocytopenia. However, the timing of the onset of hearing loss (HL) and thrombocytopenia has not been investigated, leaving it unclear which occurs earlier. Here, we generated a knock-in (KI) DFNA1 mouse model, diaphanous-related formin 1 (DIA1), in which Aequorea coerulescens green fluorescent protein (AcGFP)-tagged human DIA1(p.

Small-cell neuroendocrine cancer (SCNEC) of the uterine cervix is an exceedingly rare, highly aggressive tumor with an extremely poor prognosis. The cellular heterogeneity, origin, and tumorigenesis trajectories of SCNEC of the cervix remain largely unclear. We performed single-cell RNA sequencing and whole-exome sequencing on tumor tissues and adjacent normal cervical tissues from two patients diagnosed with SCNEC of the cervix.

The precise determination of tobacco leaf maturity is pivotal for safeguarding the taste and quality of tobacco products, augmenting the financial gains of tobacco growers, and propelling the industry's sustainable progression. This research addresses the inherent subjectivity and variability in conventional maturity evaluation techniques reliant on human expertise by introducing an innovative YOLOv10-based method for tobacco leaf maturity detection. This technique facilitates a rapid and non-invasive assessment of leaf maturity, significantly elevating the accuracy and efficiency of tobacco leaf quality evaluation.

Purpose: Cochlear implants (CIs) have improved the quality of life for many children with severe-to-profound sensorineural hearing loss. Despite the reported CI benefits of improved speech recognition, speech intelligibility, and spoken language processing, large individual differences in speech and language outcomes are still consistently reported in the literature. The enormous variability in CI outcomes has made it challenging to predict which children may be at high risk for limited benefits and how potential risk factors can be improved with interventions.

Cervical cancer poses a significant challenge to global health, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Tracking the survival rates of cancer patients through data gathered by population-based cancer registries constitutes a crucial aspect of cancer management. In recent years, attention within bibliometric studies has been directed towards examining the correlation between inflammation and radiotherapy in cervical cancer.
