The hypertension patient population has doubled since 1990, affecting 1.3 billion globally and >75% live in low-and middle-income countries. Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitors (ACEI) and Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARB) are the most prescribed drugs (>160 million times in the US), but mortality increased >30% since 1990s globally.

The new EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive requires stricter limits introducing quaternary treatments and poses significant challenges to achieving a sustainable environment. Advanced membrane-based treatment processes combined with mathematical models can be a good solution for facing the challenges above. Most existing literature on membrane filtration models primarily focuses on membrane bioreactors, lacking mechanistic models on ultrafiltration (UF) membranes.

Background: Ambient air pollution, detrimental built and social environments, social isolation (SI), low socioeconomic status (SES), and rural (versus urban) residence have been associated with cognitive decline and risk of Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD). Research is needed to investigate the influence of ambient air pollution and built and social environments on SI and cognitive decline among rural, disadvantaged, ethnic minority communities. To address this gap, this cohort study will recruit an ethnoracially diverse, rural Florida sample in geographic proximity to seasonal agricultural burning.

Objectives: To explore the perspectives of stakeholders on the General Pharmaceutical Council's revised Standards for the Initial Education and Training of Pharmacists that enable pharmacists to prescribe at the point of registration, from 2026.
Methods: This qualitative study used the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) to develop schedules for structured interviews that were conducted with various stakeholders and recorded via Microsoft Teams. Recordings were transcribed verbatim, checked for accuracy, and then analysed using the Framework approach, facilitated by NVIVO® software.
