Considering different applications that require varied power and voltage conversion levels between AC grids and AC loads, AC-AC power conversion between AC grids has become an inevitable technology of energy management systems. An isolated converter for performing AC-to-AC transmission is proposed with minimal components for reduced losses and enhanced system efficiency. Single-phase direct buck-boost AC to AC converter with minimum components constituted with two dual IGBT control units (IGBT 1-IGBT 4), inductor (L), and capacitor (C) is proposed in this work. The MATLAB/Simulink platform is used to provide in-depth analysis of the circuit and components along with the design guidelines, and simulation outcomes of this proposed model. The voltage gains of G = 2.13, power factor of 0.97, and overall efficiency of 98% are achieved in the proposed system with minimum components of 4 switches, 2 conductors, and 1 capacitor and inductor respectively. The obtained results are compared with existing technology to evaluate the proposed system.

Provision of supplemental concentrate in an automated milking system (AMS) is commonly used to encourage voluntary attendance, however, the motivation to voluntarily milk is highly variable between cows. The objectives of this study were to determine if dairy cow personality is associated with: 1) their short-term response to changes in factors believed to motivate voluntary AMS visits such as udder pressure and provision of supplemental feed (modulated by longer milking intervals or removal of AMS concentrate, respectively); and 2) their milking activity, production, and feeding behavior after returning to pre-treatment AMS milking interval and concentrate feed settings (i.e.

A dispersion-corrected density functional theory (DFT+D) method has been developed. It includes a nonhybrid dispersionless generalized gradient approximation (GGA) functional paired with a literature-parametrized dispersion function. The functional's 9 adjustable parameters were optimized using a training set of 589 benchmark interaction energies.

Background And Objectives: Objective of the study is to explore the possibility of utilization of seven part fully automated hematology analyzer for enumeration of residual leukocytes (residual white blood cells [rWBCs]) in leukoreduced packed red cells (LR-PRCs) prepared from whole blood at a blood center as an alternate to the gold standard method, flow cytometry. In this study, we evaluate the performance characteristic of hematology analyzer against flow cytometry for the estimation of rWBCs in 39 LR-PRC units.

Materials And Methods: PRCs prepared from whole blood donations by 39 donors were leukoreduced and their volumes were noted.

Surface active ionic liquids (SAILs), offer potential advantages for pharmaceutical applications. Given the low permeability of gabapentin, an antiepileptic drug, in the gastrointestinal tract as classified by the Biopharmaceutics Classification Systems (BCS), understanding the micellization behavior of SAILs is essential for developing effective drug delivery systems to improve gabapentin bioavailability. This study explores the micellization and thermophysical behavior of SAILs (2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium laurate [2-HEA][Lau], bis(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium laurate [BHEA][Lau], and tris(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium laurate [THEA][Lau] in the presence of aqueous gabapentin solution at varied temperatures through COSMO analysis, electrical conductivity and surface tension measurements.

Designing efficient drug delivery systems for optimum therapeutic outcomes and minimum adverse effects remains a pivotal focus in pharmaceutical research. Understanding the nature of interactions between drugs and drug carriers and the drug-release mechanism are the key aspects for the development of effective delivery systems. This work presents a detailed investigation into the intricate interactions between niosomes and the drug Phenosafranin (PSF), and the subsequent release induced by a variety of cyclodextrins (CDs) employing a multifaceted approach.
