Objective: Using health literacy informed communication strategies can mitigate health inequities. Despite the high prevalence of limited health literacy among parents and children, pediatricians infrequently use clear communication techniques and further education is imperative. There is minimal literature exploring health literacy curricula in pediatric residencies.

The overuse of pesticides in agriculture has led to widespread pollution of soils and water resources, becoming a problem of great concern. Nowadays, special attention is given to neonicotinoids, particularly acetamiprid, the only neonicotinoid insecticide allowed for outdoor use in the European Union. Once acetamiprid reaches the soil, adsorption/desorption is the main process determining its bioavailability and environmental fate.

Background: Health system and environmental factors play a significant role in achieving the World Health Organization (WHO) End Tuberculosis (TB) targets. However, quantitative measures are scarce or non-existent at a global level. We aimed to measure the progress made towards meeting the global End TB milestones from 2015 to 2020 and identify health system and environmental factors contributing to the success.

Molecular composition of hydroxyl radical-resistant organics in municipal solid waste leachate.

J Hazard Mater

December 2024

School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu, Sichuan 611756, China. Electronic address:

Although hydroxyl radicals (OH) degrade organic pollutants nonselectively, their mineralization rate during the treatment of waste leachate biological treatment effluent (BTL) using Fenton or Fenton-like systems is not high, and the reason is unknown. In this study, we investigated three typical Fenton-like systems that act on dissolved organic matter (DOM) in BTL. We analyzed the molecular composition of DOM resistant to OH, using ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry.
