Introduction: The incidence of primary liver cancer (PLC) has experienced a significant global increase, primarily attributed to the rise in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Unfortunately, HCC is often diagnosed in advanced stages, leaving patients with limited treatment options. Therefore, transformation therapy is a crucial approach for long-term survival and radical resection in patients with advanced HCC. Conversion therapy has demonstrated promise in the treatment of advanced HCC. When integrated with the FOLFOX regimen, hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) can significantly improve tumor response efficiency, leading to high conversion and resection rates.
Areas Covered: We reviewed landmark trials of HAIC in combination with different drugs or means for the treatment of HCC to determine the clinical value of HAIC-centric translational therapies in HCC treatment. Furthermore, we specifically emphasize the advantages associated with employing FOLFOX-HAIC in the treatment of advanced HCC.
Expert Opinion: The combination of HAIC with the FOLFOX regimen can help prevent the low intratumoral accumulation and high adverse reaction rate caused by the FOLFOX alone, holding significant potential in the comprehensive treatment of future HCC patients.

Background: We developed a prognostic model to evaluate the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (u-HCC) treated with Hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy of infusion oxaliplatin, fluorouracil and leucovorin (FOLFOX-HAIC).
Methods: This model was based on a retrospective study of u-HCC patients treated with the FOLFOX-HAIC (oxaliplatin 130 mg/m, leucovorin 400 mg/m, fluorouracil bolus 400 mg/m on day 1, and fluorouracil infusion 2,400 mg/m for 23-46 h, once every 3-4 weeks). We divided the patients into a training cohort and a validation cohort, used LASSO regression construct prognostic models, predict patient's OS and PFS based on nomograms of models.

We report the case of a 41-year-old man who presented with gross hematuria and a bladder tumor on ultrasonography. Magnetic resonance imaging indicated a possible muscle-invasive bladder cancer or urachal carcinoma. Following transurethral resection of the bladder tumor, histopathological findings revealed an adenocarcinoma similar to colorectal cancer.

This is a case report of a pregnant patient diagnosed with advanced-stage duodenal cancer in the second trimester. To the author's knowledge, there are no studies that describe the management of advanced duodenal cancer during pregnancy and this case highlights the importance of creating a multidisciplinary team and incorporating shared decision-making when discussing diagnostic workup and treatment options, including the use of cytotoxic therapy during pregnancy, with patients. This study will also discuss maternal and fetal outcomes after the administration of FOLFOX (leucovorin, fluorouracil and oxaliplatin) chemotherapy during the second trimester.
