Purpose: Precision medicine plays an important role in the treatment of patients with advanced melanoma. Despite its high incidence in White patients, advanced melanoma is rare in Asian countries, hampering prospective clinical trials targeting the Asian population. This retrospective study aimed to elucidate the real-world molecular diagnoses and outcomes of Japanese patients with melanoma using comprehensive genome profiling (CGP).

Background: Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome (BHD), a rare genetic disease characterized by multiple pulmonary cysts, can lead to spontaneous pneumothorax, cutaneous hamartomas, renal cysts, and renal cell cancer. The overall aim of this study was to assess clinical characteristics of patients with BHD-emphasizing on trends in pulmonary function patterns.
Methods: By use of data from electronic patient journals, we conducted a retrospective cohort study on clinical characteristics and pulmonary function tests (PFT) from patients with BHD, who were clinically followed-up in a Danish tertiary referral center for rare and interstitial lung diseases.

Melanoma is a highly aggressive malignancy originating from melanocytes, characterized by its potential to arise in various anatomic locations, both common and rare. The incidence of melanoma has been steadily increasing globally, with variations in clinical presentation, tumor behavior, and prognosis depending on the anatomical site involved. Understanding the diverse pathological spectrum of melanoma is critical for optimizing diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Angiosarcoma (AS) is a rare, aggressive malignancy originating from vascular or lymphatic endothelial cells. Despite its severity, little is known about its epidemiology, and no geographical regions have previously been identified as having an exceptionally high incidence. We retrospectively analyzed medical records spanning 37 years (1987-2023) in Okinawa, Japan, identifying 135 cases of AS that were used to calculate its incidence.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphomas (CTCLs) are a rare and heterogeneous subset of skin-localized, non-Hodgkin lymphomas. Our aim was to evaluate the in vitro antitumor activity of the multi-kinase inhibitor linifanib, either alone or in combination with metronomic vinorelbine (mVNR) or etoposide (mETO), on CTCL cells. In vitro proliferation assay and Luminex analysis showed that long-term, daily exposure of linifanib significantly inhibited the proliferation of the human CTCL cell line HH, in a concentration-dependent manner (IC = 48.
