Functional annotation based on Gene Ontology has provided a structured and comprehensive system to access the current knowledge about the function of genes. For model plants such as , there is a constant updating and restructuring of the functional annotation that increases the reliability of the analyses that use it. For tomato (), a crop widely used as a model plant for the study of fleshy fruits, there is no functional annotation, at least not freely accessible, even though its genome has long been sequenced and annotated. In this work, we generated, using a simplified version of the maize GAMER pipeline, a tomato Gene Ontology functional annotation with 72.42% (ITAG3.2) and 74.2% (ITAG4.0) of protein-coding genes with at least one GO term association. With this dataset, we share a reliable and easy-to-use tool with the tomato community.

Lymphocryptoviruses (LCVs) are ubiquitous gamma-herpesviruses that establish life-long infections in both humans and non-human primates (NHPs). In immunocompromised hosts, LCV infections are commonly associated with B cell disorders and malignancies such as lymphoma. In this study, we evaluated simian LCV-encoded small microRNAs (miRNAs) present in lymphoblastoid cell lines (LCLs) derived from a Mauritian cynomolgus macaque () with cyLCV-associated post-transplant lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD) as well as the viral miRNAs expressed in a baboon () LCL that harbors CeHV12.

The field of emotion recognition from physiological signals is a growing area of research with significant implications for both mental health monitoring and human-computer interaction. This study introduces a novel approach to detecting emotional states based on fractal analysis of electrodermal activity (EDA) signals. We employed detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA), Hurst exponent estimation, and wavelet entropy calculation to extract fractal features from EDA signals obtained from the CASE dataset, which contains physiological recordings and continuous emotion annotations from 30 participants.

Sugarcane Pokkah Boeng (PB), a fungal disease caused by spp., poses a significant threat to sugar industries globally. Breeding sugarcane varieties resistant to PB has become a priority, and the mining of PB resistance genes and the development of molecular markers provide a solid foundation for this purpose.

The current work represents a comparative study of the phenolic profiles of three under-explored (Boraginaceae) species from Greece- (OL), (OE), and (OG). Although spp. have ethnopharmacological significance, previous phytochemical studies have focused primarily on roots.
