Fatty liver impairs liver function and reduces productivity in dairy cows. Our previous in vivo findings demonstrated that branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) or branched-chain ketoacid (BCKA) improved liver function and lactation performance in dairy cows; however, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear.
