The current paper describes the creation of a simultaneous trimodal neuroimaging protocol. The authors detail their methodological design for a subsequent large-scale study, demonstrate the ability to obtain the expected physiologically induced responses across cerebrovascular domains, and describe the pitfalls experienced when developing this approach. Approach: Electroencephalography (EEG), functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), and transcranial Doppler ultrasound (TCD) were combined to provide an assessment of neuronal activity, microvascular oxygenation, and upstream artery velocity, respectively.

Intracranial pressure (ICP), cerebral blood flow and volume are affected by craniospinal elasticity and cerebrospinal fluid dynamics, interacting in complex, nonlinear ways. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) may significantly alter this relationship. This retrospective study investigated the relationship between the vascular and parenchymal intracranial compartments by analysing two amplitudes: cerebral blood flow velocity (AmpCBFV) and ICP (AMP) during hypocapnia manoeuvre in TBI patients.

Background: Spectrum of chronic orthostatic intolerance without orthostatic hypotension includes postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), with orthostatic tachycardia and hypocapnic cerebral hypoperfusion (HYCH), without orthostatic tachycardia. This study compared autonomic, cerebrovascular, and neuropathic features of POTS and HYCH.
Methods: This retrospective study evaluated patients with orthostatic intolerance referred for autonomic testing.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether people with fibromyalgia (FM) have dysfunctional breathing by examining acid-base balance and comparing it with healthy controls.
Methods: Thirty-six women diagnosed with FM and 36 healthy controls matched for age and gender participated in this cross-sectional study. To evaluate acid-base balance, arterial blood was sampled from the radial artery.
