To study antimicrobial susceptibilities of genital mycoplasmas recovered from endocervical samples of reproductive-age, nonpregnant women ( = 8,336). For isolation and susceptibility testing, the Mycoplasma IST2 kit was used. As many as 2093 samples were positive for mycoplasmas. The vast majority (>96%) of remained susceptible to tetracycline, doxycycline, josamycin and pristinamycin, whereas susceptibility rates to azithromycin and fluoroquinolones were significantly decreased. exhibited high susceptibility rates to doxycycline, pristinamycin and josamycin (98.1-100%), while susceptibilities to tetracycline and fluoroquinolones were considerably lower. Doxycycline remained highly potent for treating mycoplasmas; nevertheless, susceptibilities to other antimicrobials were significantly diminished.

The present study was conducted from December 2021 to April 2023 at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Bayan University, in Baghdad province, Iraq, to detect infection in humans by serological methods. Field studies were conducted using 1,500 sera samples from hospitals and private medical laboratories. The sera samples were separated and examined by indirect immunoglobulin G enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays to serologically detect infection.

Background: We aimed to shed light on the risks of elevated levels of IL-18 in aborted women with toxoplasmosis by evaluating the risk or protective function of alleles or genotypes for single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of IL-18 (rs 1946519), which might be related to the susceptibility to toxoplasmosis.
Methods: IL-18 levels in patient and control blood samples were determined using ELISA, and the SNP IL-18 (ra 1946519) was subjected to the high-resolution method.
Results: Compared to healthy pregnant women (HP), the IL-18 serum levels of recurrent abortion with toxoplasmosis (RAWT), recurrent abortion without toxoplasmosis (RAWOT), and healthy non-pregnant (HNP) women decreased with significant differences.

Background: Over the years, the numbers of centres performing assisted reproductive technology (ART) have increased in urban regions of Africa. We reviewed a 10-year record of ART in a public hospital in a bid to determine the pregnancy rate and identify factors associated with achieving clinical pregnancy.
Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective, analytical, cross-sectional study of 604 women who had undergone fertilisation (IVF) or IVF/intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection, over a 10-year period, at the [Institute of Fertility Medicine, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital].

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the correlation of ovarian sensitivity index (OSI) and clinical parameters in IVF treatments.
Methods: IVF data files between January 2011 and December 2020 in a single unit were included. The primary outcome measure was the correlation between the OSI and clinical pregnancy and live birth rates.

Purpose: We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to examine the associations between telomere length and telomerase activity in subjects with and without metabolic syndrome (MetS).
Methods: The meta-analysis protocol was registered in the PROSPERO database. The PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, and LILACS databases were searched for studies reporting telomere length or telomerase activity in adult men and non-pregnant women with and without MetS.
