AI Article Synopsis

  • Bunting total alkaloid (CSBTA) was tested for its antibacterial effects using various scientific methods like SEM, RT-qPCR, and ELISA.
  • CSBTA treatment led to significant changes, such as the shrinkage and rupture of bacteria, reduced biofilm density, and lower expression of virulence-related mRNA genes.
  • The findings suggest that CSBTA kills free bacteria, disrupts biofilm formation, and could potentially serve as a new drug for treating bacterial infections.

Article Abstract

To investigate the antibacterial effects of bunting total alkaloid (CSBTA) on . SEM, chemical staining, RT-qPCR and ELISA were used to detect effects of CSBTA on . CSBTA treatment caused shrinkage and rupture of morphology, decreased biofilm density and live bacteria in biofilm, as well as reduced mRNA expression of virulence genes , , , and of . Furthermore, NOK cells induced by CSBTA-treated exhibited lower IL-6 and TNF-α expression levels. CSBTA is able to kill free , disrupt the biofilm and weaken the pathogenicity of . It has the potential to be developed as a drug against infection.
