Background: Moquin-Tandon, 1855 is amongst the fastest-spreading terrestrial slugs Europe-wide. In recent years, it has been recorded in Canada, Mexico and continues to expand eastwards into Eurasia. Renowned for its high invasiveness, combatting its swift spread creates significant challenges in organising effective preventative measures.
New Information: This study presents the first record of from Armenia, which is the second record of this species' invasion of the Caucasus. In 2022, a substantial population of was observed close to the City of Stepanavan, which is also the first record in Armenia of the family Arionidae. How the species was introduced to Armenia remains unknown. Identification of was conducted, based on external and genital morphology and mitochondrial CO1 (cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1) gene sequencing, revealing notable similarities with Central European clades. Our results confirm the introduction and distribution of to Armenia. Invasion of such species into Armenia will require additional monitoring and would be aided by further research on Armenia's mollusc fauna in the future.

Stylommatophoran pulmonate land slugs and snails successfully completed the water-to-land transition from an aquatic ancestor and flourished on land. Of the 30,000 estimated species, very few genomes have so far been published. Here, we assembled and characterized a chromosome-level genome of the "Spanish" slug, Arion vulgaris Moquin-Tandon, 1855, a notorious pest land slug in Europe.

Purpose: The present study investigates the origin of Arion vulgaris slugs in the parks of Moscow city and their parasites.
Methods: Snails and slugs inhabiting green areas of Moscow city were collected in the summer season of 2020 and examined on the presence of gastropod-associated nematodes and trematodes using morphological and molecular methods.
Results: The presence of the alien slug species, Arion vulgaris, was recorded in several locations, and the mitochondrial gene-based analysis has shown that slug populations inhabited Moscow parks originated from West and Central Europe.

The slug, Moquin-Tandon, 1855, is a serious pest in agriculture and private gardens. White worm, Henle, 1837, is an important model of decomposer organism in the terrestrial ecosystem. Saponins, which are secondary metabolites of plants, have previously been shown to have some molluscicidal effect.

Stylommatophora is one of the most speciose orders of Gastropoda, including terrestrial snails and slugs, some of which are economically important as human food, agricultural pests, vectors of parasites or due to invasiveness. Despite their great diversity and relevance, the internal phylogeny of Stylommatophora has been debated. To date, only 34 stylommatophoran mitogenomes were sequenced.
